Colin Henshaw & Private User

She was off a generation. Isabel (sometimes called Mabel) was the daughter of Sir William Stanley, Knt., of Hooton & his wife Blanche de Arderne, of Alvanley (she’s sometimes called Margaret).

I’ve added more citations and finished a clean up around the children.

She’s here at

https://our-royal-titled-noble-and-commoner-ancestors.com/p391.htm#...

But Colin, be careful with the site. It has errors, even when the citations look good like this page has.

Many thanks, Erica.

At least that is one worry of my mind. Yes, one does have t be careful. My involvement with this hinges on the wife of my 7th Great Grandfather, Henry Henshaw, by the name of Margaret Davenport. Using ancestry.com I was able to trace her back to her great Grandfather, Robert" the Elder" Davenport. There it stayed for about a year, when ancestry.com revealed two possible parents for Robert. One seemed erroneous. I have a listing of Davenports (1) from the 11th Century, He was genuine but Robert was not his son. Robert was born around 1535 to 1542. His mother was named as Ellen,(2) and the other possible candidate for his father according to ancestry.com was William Davenport, b1505 and dying possibly in 1570. I found him on my listing of Davenports, married to a distant cousin, Ellen Davenport, and they had a son called Robert b 1542. On the strength of this I linked my lineage with the Davenport lineage on geni.com.
