Frances Halbert Was Not the daughter of Colonel Richard Randolph, 'of Curles' & Mary Randolph They did not have a daughter called Frances.

I’ve detached.

If anyone knows differently, please advise with references.

Daughter of Colonel Richard Randolph, 'of Curles' and Jane Randolph (Bolling)
Wife of Col. John Dandridge; John Jones and Joel Halbert
Mother of Elizabeth Frances Halbert (Jones)

Three husbands and one child correct?

Or has she been confused?

Wife of Joel Halbert
Dau of John Jones

is different than Frances Randolph

And looking at HER profile, the About says:
concerns
This Elizabeth's attached father was reportedly born in the same generation as this Elizabeth. Her attached mother was born about a generation after this Elizabeth! Further research is warranted.

These kinds of "notes" NEED to go in a Discussion and NOT on the profile.
Pet peeve.

Thank you

Daughter Frances Halbert is how I ended up here.

http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~popfraley/history/pafg78.htm#2021 is for Frances Jones daughter of Jones and married Halbert.

No idea where Colonel John Dandridge, II comes in

I cut/paste from my message thread to managers from this morning and now am on my iPad so please forgive the choppiness

I still don’t follow lol but I’ll take it one profile at a time.

The thing to note is an attempt by people to make someone a descendant of Pocahontas. And that genealogy does not look valid.

So now we have one woman, called Elizabeth, Frances, and / or Elizabeth Frances, “of” Essex County (not Henrico) in 1740, when as a widow Jones she’s marrying Joel I. Halbert, Sr

Colonel Richard Randolph, 'of Curles' & Jane Randolph who married about 1723, did not have a daughter Frances, at least no one by that name in their wills. They did have a daughter Elizabeth - Elizabeth Meade

So something is wrong with this reference:

The comments is profile include:

For clarification:

  • Frances Jones was Frances Randolph's name during her first marriage
  • Frances Randolph was widowed
  • Frances Halbert was Frances Randolph's name after her second marriage.
  • The Frances Jones Halbert who married Ambrose Blackburn II is her daughter.

So far I am inclined to consider “Frances” as the same person as her (current) daughter, Frances Halbert

I would love someone else’s thoughts on this before proceeding.

Private User - I know you have not particularly commented on attempts at becoming a Pocahontas descendants, but doesn’t this kind of look like that to you? I note the Boddie pedigree comes from the Halberts, and not the Randolph’s, who didn’t need to jump up their origins.

And perhaps this is how Frances, wife of Joel Halbert, turned into an Elizabeth Frances Randolph:

Acker, E. D.. A brief history of the Acker-Halbert family : composed of biographical sketches and descent-diagrams. Lincoln, Ala.: unknown, 1928. Page 90. < AncestrySharing >

Comments: Joel Halbert was not born in Wales. His wife “Elizabeth” was a widow Jones, and her name is seen as “Frances” on a land deed in 1747.

Yes.
Thank you.
And seeing the Pocahontas connection makes sense her profile was in need of work:

Thank you for your patience, Erica Howton
I am going over why I landed here and will revisit if there are other concerns.

Noticed a change regarding Frances {Randolph} Halbert. Any reason why?

Private User it's all in the above posts as well as you can see the Revision Tab.
each generation has to prove they are correctly attached as a child of the previous.
Adding the Dandridge and the Randolphs make it a prime target for people trying to make someone fit where they do not belong or ae proved incorrect

Didn't know there is a Revision Tab to see the change..
Thanks.

You're welcome, Private User
I hope it helps!

Yes it did.
