Lieutenant James McDowell - Two men of same name from same family but different men

I discovered this due to looking at the children of Ephraim McDowell
There are several same named children and each has been curated so it will need the curators’ attention please.
I have DNA confirmed with autosomal with several others at AncestryDNA, 23&me and a genealogy group on Facebook which is especially active for Irvine.
Can the curators please check the profiles?
The profiles at Wikitree suggest that records were used to differentiate between the two men

Both end up with Alexander McDowell being a tenth great grandfather in the relationship path but James is showing as not the son of Ephraim and Margaret any more at Wikitree.

It appears they are saying Ephraim is uncle not father.

Relationships are locked.
