Hello Vanessa, Jessica, Eric, & Patricia. What is the subject of your discussion on Robert the Bruce? Is it just that you are related by blood to him (... except Vanessa)? An interesting fact: one source says that if each generation averages 30 years, if you go back 20 generations (one's 17th great-grandparents) or 600 years... you will have 2,097,150 ancestors. If he's your 20th-21st ggf, the number is much higher as each generation back increases exponentially, Robert the Bruce is only one of them. Fortunately for all of us, there is something called "pedigree collapse" which brings those numbers down because distant cousins eventually marry, mainly because they are in the same region.
