The profile is locked. How can I sort out the family tree of Thomas Dickerson and Angela Reeve in my tree unless I can sort out the Maryland family from the Southold family? This is another example of how inactive and unresponsive former curators can prevent cleaning up inaccurate merges when they reach down for generatiions.

Have you tried asking another curator to take a look? You can request curator help in this discussion: https://www.geni.com/discussions/245980

Just a general note. We curators locked names for a reason: it’s much better to disconnect wrong relationships than “rewrite” a profile. So it seems like you’re seeing the result of bad merges, not “locked” data fields?

When I disconnect, I put a hyperlink to the disconnected spouse or parent, in the profile “about”, for easy reconnect if there’s a dispute.

If you’re not able to break a wrong relationship, curators are more than happy - and prompt - in the “curators, please assist” discussion Jonathan mentioned.

Just tagging Thomas Dickerson of Southold & Abigail Wager so can more easily see disconnect points needed.

Inaccuracies in the monument at the Presbyterian churchyard at Southold:[1][2] "There is no evidence that Nathaniel and John Dickinson were brothers of Philemon Dickerson."[3]

Looks like we don’t have authentic origins for any of these Dickerson / Dickinsons?
