What is under discussion here? Elizabeth Atkins was (supposedly) born in Cornwall in 1613 and her first husband was also from Kent. Apparently. But her brother Jonathan was born at Tonbridge in Kent in 1610, some 300 miles away and died aged almost 100 in Barbados. The father was born at Cardington in Bedfordshire, 616 miles from Helston in Cornwall, so was the mother, but nobody knows where they died. Did they move to Cornwall? Probably not. Did they have a child here and a child there? Also probably not. There is no evidence to show that Elizabeth Atkins born in Cornwall was a daughter of parents who lived 300 miles or 616 miles away. No baptism entry, zero. This seems to be a typically American idea that you just hop on a plane in the year 1600 or into your limousine and go along a motorway to give birth then pop back 300 or 600 miles away for lunch. Trees without any proof of parentage should be diconnected. This is what the discussion should be about for 147 people to read...

At the end of the day, a great many people today have a drop of royal blood since most of the royal men back then felt awfully restricted by monogamy.. The modern day purpose of perpetuating the "diluted" family connection excapes me.
I too am told to be related to The Duke of Edinburgh (by several marriages) but rather heretically I view it as hardly plausible and a bit entertaining.
