Did Gideon have two sons named John or one son who married twice?

These two are connected to Gideon as his father but one has no mother connected.

Any clarification on whether these connections are correct woud be helpful. Thanks in adavnce.

John Gibson, of Lexington District

John Gibson, of Blooming Creek

I’m not sure who the parents are of John Gibson, of Lexington District but it’s not the Gibson Family who went to Mississippi. This John Gibson left with will in Lexington District, SC.

I’m pretty sure John Gibson, of Blooming Creek who married Agnes Gibson was the son of Gibeon ‘Gibb’ Gibson & Martha ‘Mary’ Gibson

Thanks for sorting those out, Erica. Dang, the Gibson lines are confusing what with all the same-name folks!

We’re not done although progress … I shudder ever time I look at children attached to the original Gib, Gideon Gibson, of the Pee Dee River

Well, my line has been disconnected for the reasons discussed under Elizabeth (Gibson) Parker's profile. So I'm no longer connected as a descendant of Gideon Gibson I. Instead of my ancestor, he now shows as; Gideon Gibson, of the Pee Dee River is your first cousin 8 times removed's husband. lol

So I'm going back to working on my MacAuselan and related lines that I never got finished with.

You just became closer actually by the change in original Gideon’s wife’s parents.

Mary (Browne) Gibson is Debbie Gambrell's first cousin 8 times removed.

I had updated MacAuselan without mentioning it, but you had pointe out the issue & records agree.

Cool - thanks for pointing that closer relationship out to Mary (Browne) Gibson, Erica - I'll make that change in my tree.

Yeah, I got off on this Gibson tangent and haven't seen what you had done on the MacAuselan line. I spent the morning making notes on one of my son's paternal lines and now going back to my MacAuselans. Thanks so much for your help on that!

I appreciate all the help on the Gibson lines. Perhaps, someday they will be straight. as for now, they are "much straighter." One day, I hope I can find how Dexter Gibson fits into the family. I suspect his birth around 1820-25 in the Pee Dee section of Marion County, SC or Horry County, SC.
