Managers of Elvis Presley,
Hello,
It is not right that the Elvis matrilinear line is jewish, because I did my mTDNA in the FTDNA and he came as my cousin, sharing the same matrilinear heritage, B2, which means amerindian. Mitochondrial DNA is inherited from mother only.
I have my video from FTDNA thaw shows him as my cousin.
It is necessary to update his profile.
Maria Cristina
Ps. I can post my video.
On his Ethniceleb page: "There is a claim that Elvis’s matrilineal great-great-grandmother, said to have been named Nancy J. Burdine, was Jewish. It is possible that Elvis and his family believed this, as well. However, research has shown this claim of Jewish ancestry to be highly unlikely, and that Elvis’s matrilineal great-great-grandmother was almost certainly a different woman, Celia Anne/Ann Butler. (It is not clear if Nancy Burdine actually existed, much less was Jewish and/or an ancestor of Elvis). Elvis’s great-great-grandfather, Abner Hampton Tackett, was not Jewish. Some background information on this can be found here (see “24. Blue Christmas”) and here (from Jim W. Tackitt, of the Tackett Family Association)."
Elvis Presley is your 15th cousin 6 times removed.

Donald N Yates asserts that Elvis was mtDNA haplogroup B.
Yates also stated: "Elvis’s paternal grandfather was born out of wedlock and got his mother’s surname. His Y-DNA test showed numerous exact matches with the Wallace surname in Scotland, who within haplogroup I belong overwhelmingly to the rare haplogroup I2c1a2a1a1a"
Both assertions can be found in Old World Roots of the Cherokee:

Delighted to hear from you, Ms. Elaine! I cherish the autographed portrait of Elvis inherited from my grandmother who received it back in the mid-60s. It hung in her livingroom from the time she got it until her death about 20 years later. Mother got it next and kept it for about 30 years, then finally passed it along to me more than five years ago. My grandparents met and got to know him a little during the filming of "Follow That Dream" :) They thought the world of him and were so happy and proud to meet him. His voice was amazing and he had a wonderful attitude toward others.
