DNA Markers: E-FT137267

Henry Back, of Madison County Is attached to DNA Markers: E1b1b1a3

DNA Markers: E1b1b1a3
DNA Markers: E-FT137267
Same?

Joseph was out of generation. I think Katherine and Catrine are the same and she was attached to the father rather than the son.
They should be corrected now.

I believe they are the same.
Date of birth was wrong because he was NOT a twin.
Joseph mentioned by name in father’s will which was mistaken for his grandfather
AND a wife given to the wrong Harmon who was mentioned in her husband’s will so now they should be correct for Hermann, Joseph, Catrine, Harmon, Jr, etc.
Done.
Will let others weigh in but I think these are now “fixed”
Thank you

The two Y DNA attached are the same just different test levels.
Please see Discussion at DNA Integration Superthread

Correction suggestions sent to Germanna to reflect that he is the son of Son of John Henry Bach and Anna Maria Back (Hoffman) and NOT the son of Hermann Bach and Anna Margaretha Hausman and John and Jacob are not his sons with an unknown first wife.

You refer to John Back, of Madison County as shown as son of Johann Heinrich Bach
1709–1789
Anna Bach
Anna Maria Hoffman Bach
1707–1782 at https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/167918055/john-back?

Yes, John Back, of Madison County
http://germannafamily.org/getperson.php?personID=I071738&tree=t...
They should be gearing up to make these corrections soon but most definitely after all the additional research they have planned.
Timing is everything!
I trust Germanna Foundation. Any accusations of intent of the original researchers I cannot address but I am confident they want the genealogies correct and especially the Back descendants want them correct.
I am excited to see the Y DNA and the DAR letter and I am working on them again because I merged a duplicate and discovered the letter and DNA so, voila, here we go!

If you’re working on Bach families, you want to know this. It’s also amusing.

The Back-Bach Genealogical Society
It was all just a scam

They claimed that the Back (Bach) family
from southeastern Kentucky descended from Harman Back (Hermann Bach), who was form Freudenberg, Germany. But that was a blatant lie.

Pertinent to your current clarifications:

HENRY BACK & JOHN BACK

There really was a man named Henry Back, who had a brother named John Back, and they really did marry two sisters named Elizabeth and Margaret Hoffman. They were the daughters of John Hoffman and Maria Sabina Folg. But Henry and John's father was John Henry Back (Johann Heinrich Bach). That Back (Bach) family lived about 11 miles southwest of Culpeper, and practically next door to the Hoffman family. The two Back brothers married the two Hoffman sisters, around 1775, probably in a double ceremony. John Back died in 1794, and his widow Margaret moved to Rockingham County, Virginia. Henry Back died in 1809, and his widow Elizabeth moved to Rockingham County to live next to her sister. Elizabeth was seen living there, in the 1810 Census Report (with her son Aaron); she was also listed in the 1810 Tax Lists (as "Aaron Back & mother"); and she was listed in the 1815 Tax List as well. Elizabeth Hoffman Back died in Rockingham County, around 1815; her sister Margaret died there, around 1831. Elizabeth Hoffman Back never went to Kentucky, and so she never established the Back (Bach) family there.

Erica Howton yeah, it gets pretty ugly.
I don't guess you remember the two Elizabeths and what I called the FAG memorial war.
Here:

Elizabeth Back

Johann Wilhelm Back is the line that calls itself cousin to Johann Sebastian Bach

That BacktoBach site has both correct and WRONG "info" so is unreliable.
I feel for the descendants caught in the middle and I hate the nasty accusations

At any rate, it seems high time to get them correct :)

Yes, I just connected Henry Back, of Madison County as brother of John Back, of Madison County

Did you want to correct Elizabeth? We know now who the “winner” is of the “memorial war.” :)

lol
Please do the honors, Erica!

John Back, of Madison County --- Birth: circa 1738 "Probably, Thüringen, Germany"--- these guys are the ones claiming to NOT be the same as the E guys

Sister to Mary Maggard according to the FAG and adopted by Samuel Maggard's brother

And now we have a geni pedigree error for

Henry Back, of Madison County

He should be R-M269, not E1b1b1a3

https://www.familytreedna.com/public/Bach_to_Back?iframe=yresults Group A-Germany to Virginia to Eastern Kentucky E1b1b1a3 [NO]

https://www.geni.com/people/John-Back-Sr/600000000864832627 has the wrong parents, both in linkage and bio. There’s a Germanna app link: http://germannafamily.org/getperson.php?personID=I097378&tree=tree1

But FamilyTree DNA has a submitted pedigree from a tester:

https://www.familytreedna.com/public/Bach_to_Back?iframe=yresults Group A-Germany to Virginia to Eastern Kentucky E1b1b1a3 195252 HarmanSR>HenrySR>John>Isaac, Breathitt Co KY

I think we should move him over.

Bad profile link, sorry.

The pedigree should be Harmon > Henry > John Back, of Breathitt County > Isaac Back

(Ancestor of the geni test submitter)

It's the brothers that are NOT rothers

Re: John Back, of Madison County --- Birth: circa 1738 "Probably, Thüringen, Germany"--- these guys are the ones claiming to NOT be the same as the E guys.

Well. They are correct.

Agreed

Meaning if it is showing E AND Thuringin, it is not correct
