The DAR recognizes this ancestor for his patriotism during the War of Independence from England. It also confirms that he had a daughter, Ruth, married to Samuel Guile / Guild. I found this omission while checking out a pending merge on Judith Stoughton Smead. It connects a line descending from her son, William Smead, II ("Jr.").

If this all checks out, it would be appropriate to connect Ruth to her parents, merge the lines, and add Thomas Nims to the DAR project.
So far, I find no problems with it.
Joel Guild seems to represent the lowest point in the line to be merged. And all the facts seem to check out reasonably.

Ruth's parentage has to be cleared up first. For comparison, here's where the two lines diverge, beginning with the one already established on Geni:
(Here is where Ruth Guild should be, daughter of Thomas Nims and Esther Martindale).
For her husband, Samuel Guild, I requested a merge with a third matching profile for him. His place of birth should be Wrentham, but everything else matches perfectly.

Now for the line that I think should be merged with the above (after connecting Ruth Guild):
