The difference is that not only is the second one a duplicate of the first, it is in a duplicate line. Merging such profiles in, and cleaning up after them, and fixing the discrepancies, takes a staggering amount of work, for the few curators who work in the area.
So the policy is to merge the line in below, detach the duplicates, and send them to Customer Service.
For profiles thus far up in the historical tree, it’s best to resolve any differences in a public discussion ( though often curator’s notes or Overviews will explain what is going on).
On the other hand, if the lines are pretty much the same, the duplicate line adds nothing, except work (and the curators in these areas have lots to do already).
So the people that took it out, which one they took out the good one and replaced the real one, I have people that are informing me of the change outside of Geni and we are the right to make it right, not to snip without the discussion with all family members to discuses as Anne said, which was not done and 1000's of people are unhappy with this whole Genealogy thing with everyone says we find our family and then take it away, so we pay for the service just to take it away, this is our family everyone, so things can't be stopped and not letting the truth out cause the higher are worried about us finding and claiming any kinda honor said looking for our family the deleted ones and can't claim our honor of our family that was meant to be lost, so we would not find it, sad we have to lose that control and have everything made up go to one area and add it accordingly, to not have any adds unless it was approved with facts not put there without facts to make people think it is right, which it is right but to merge the people that got taking out, which is yes a big job, but they should not of been put in the medieval tree in the first time if you are worried about facts once we claim you blame it on facts and ya snip it, sad once there it is fact and if ya change it it can't be facts, So we all know that it is right but we don't have to snip and Isolate it forever, like the real sons of Odin, ya call them gods well they are real people, they just made it up, the lineage is real, put that back to and explain yourself for isolating real people that you call gods, please don't make stories you can't back up put the fake gods and tell them they are real people
The thing with just these duplicates is that some believe that the theory that Toke Trylle was a son of Palne is true, it is based on namegiving in the line down where the name Palne (Pallig) repeats itself, (don't know if that son is placed here on Geni at all), Palne wasn't that common, so a grand or grand grandchild to Palne could be likely,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pallig Palne was murdered by the way togheter with his wife in England 1002.
The supposed grandchild to Palne would in that case have been Skjalm Hvide, who by the way, was the first to use the nick "Hvide", = white, as in "Vite Krist" (Hvítakristr) = white Christus, to identify him as a christian.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skjalm_Hvide
One other reason to supect that this line was true, is the high power that Hvide family gained and hold for a couple of centuries. They could have been linked but with a footnote stating that the line is a theory, and should not be taken for absolute true until other findings comes up verifying it or denying it completly.
