Janet Crichton, Countess of Morton - Which parents?

Douglas Richardson says her father was Patrick Crichton of Cranstoun-Riddell.

Should all those "private" profiles be private that far back on Sir Patrick Crichton of Cranston-Riddell? It might help to determine if we can see them.

I'm supposed to descend from Agnes and would like to know it is right as it can be. Thanks.

Brian Johnson - the issue is the identification of Patrick Crichton of Cranstoun-Riddell. I don’t see anything in TSP to indicate one way or another.

Burke’s doesn’t identify any grandparent or brothers for sisters Agnes and Janet.

Someone asked me to look at 1700s Crichtons in England ... and I found a nest of artists.

Frances Crichton Was a watercolor painter. Her brother Edward Dodwell Is rather impressive

that is public Sir James Crichton, of Cranston Riddel

The other 5 are marked private. If I need to open up and add the links, I may need more tabs or screens as I am not sure which are which once I open one.

So one issue with properly identifying Sir Patrick Crichton of Cranston Riddell is finding an heiress of Riddell marrying a Crichton son around 1468 and bringing her property to the marriage,
