Gisele's profile lists her mother as Eve of Luxembourg. No father is given.

Her Overview states, "According to the Foundation for Medieval Genealogy, her parentage is unknown."

I find in MedLands, https://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/LUXEMBOURG.htm#Evadiedafter1029 the following which states Eva m GERHARD Graf von Metz, son of [RICHARD

x) EVA (-19 Apr after 18 Jun 1040). "Comes Gerardus" donated property to the monastery of Fruttuaria, at the request of "conjuge Eva" for the soul of "filii sui Sigifredi defuncti", by charter dated 1020, witnessed by "Girardi, Giselberti, Folmarii comitum…"[82]. Her parentage is deduced from Thietmar naming her son Siegfried, son of Count Gerhard, "the empress's nephew"[83]. This is confirmed by "Henricus…rex" granting property "in villa Morlinga in pago Musiligeauue in comitatu Uirad" to "Abenze…ex parte sue sororis contectalis Heinrici imperatoris" by charter dated 18 Jun 1040[84]. m GERHARD Graf von Metz, son of [RICHARD Graf von Metz/GERHARD Graf von Metz] & his wife --- (-[28 Dec 1021/23]).

If you click the GENI link to her mother, Eve of Luxembourg, you get a profile that states she was "Wife of Gerhard Graf von Metz."

https://www.genealogieonline.nl/en/stamboom-homs/I60000000022141016... states Eve, married Gerard, Count of Metz and cites Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America Before 1700 by Frederick Lewis Weis, Lines: 100A-20, 100B-21, 143-19, 143-20 Can anyone check that?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigfried,_Count_of_the_Ardennes states Sigfried's daughter Eve, married Gerard, Count of Metz

Should Gisele, linked as the daughter of Eve of Luxembourg, be listed as the daughter of Gerhard Graf von Metz who is Eve's husband?
( Gerhard im Nordgau, Graf von Egisheim )

According to this Google translation of a German site, her husband, Gerhard , the son of Adalbert and Judith, is the nephew of Gerhard Von Metz (who was married to Eve of Luxemburg)

http://www.manfred-hiebl.de/genealogie-mittelalter/luxemburger/eva_...

" In the cap. 44 (ibid. Page 64 or 215) the same thing is reported again, but Gerhard von Metz is there with his nephew Gerhard , the son of Adalbert and Judith and father and father of Duke Gerhard , confused when a Gisela is attributed to him as his wife.]."

This states Gerhard of Alsace, son of Gerhard II, son of Albert who was the brother of the Gerhard who married Eve of Luxemburg married Gisela who was the daughter of Duke Dietrich I, rather than Gisela being the daughter of Gerhard who married Eve of Luxemburg

Gerhard of Alsace Duke of Upper Lorraine (1048-1070)
----------------------- Count of Metz
around 1015 / 20-6.3.1070 Vogt of Remiremont
Remiremont

Buried: Remiremont

Younger son of Count Gerhard II von Metz from the house of CHATENOIS and Gisela von Ober-Lothringen , daughter of Duke Dietrich I.
Lexicon of the Middle Ages: Volume IV Column 1310

Anyone read German well enough to follow up on this?

If Gisela is the daughter of Duke Dietrich I, and not the daughter of Gerhard and Eva, who is Dietrich I?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodoric_I,_Duke_of_Upper_Lorraine
He married Richilde, the daughter of Folmar III, count of Bliesgau and Metz, in 985.

He possibly had a daughter, Gisela, who married Gerard de Bouzonville and had a son, Gerard, Duke of Lorraine.

So there's no source that says Gisele's mother was Eve of Luxembourg. But if she were, then her husband would be her first cousin. Seems very unlikely. Looks very snippable.
