Greetings,

We received the following correction from an Internet user, for your consideration:

"You erroneously put Captain William Ball's wife as Hannah Atherold when it was Hannah Heale (Hale, Haile), Lancaster, County wills of George Hale 12-30-1697, and his wife Ellen Heale 10-15-1710, seen in many genealogical sites, and here cited by William and Mary Quarterly, Vol. 17, pages 202, 203, 204, 297 "

Hannah Ball - the source used for her origins is DJ French’s 2013 monograph, http://maryballwashington.com/2013monograph2.pdf, page 49 - 53, which concludes that she’s not a known Atherold from Burgh.

I’ll check on the Hale references.

Hannah Heale married the third William Ball, not the first.

Hannah Ball (daughter of Capt. George Haile and Ellen Haile), wife of Col. William Ball, III, of "Millenbeck" (son of Captain William Ball, II, of Millenbeck and Margaret Ball and grandson of Colonel William Ball, of Millenbeck and Hannah Ball).

The reference given is here:

“Heale Family.” The William and Mary Quarterly, vol. 17, no. 4, 1909, pp. 296–299. JSTOR, http://www.jstor.org/stable/1915539. Accessed 5 Oct. 2020.

To paraphrase: Hannah (daughter of George Heale) married William Ball, son of William, son of William the immigrant.

And it’s been added to profiles, my thanks for it.

Thanks again... it's possible I misunderstood which William Ball the email was referring to (the person who emailed did not send a link). Anyway it sounds like you've got it all nailed down!
