Hi there Sharon

As I am new to genealogy this year, I am not sure what your query is... Marck is recorded in some notes as in Picardy, France (here's an example of a reference https://www.britannica.com/place/Picardy), (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picardy) which was later incorporated into Calais. Is there a preference as to how this should be recorded. The spelling of those places in old records varies. Also, which would be the preferred language to record such names? Richard Ball mentions that records for her birth "The details of her parents and her Prevot children come from the
Church registers of the Protestant Church at Guines, near Calais". He spells Marq differently too. How would you prefer it to be referenced? Regards Gail

I'm just logging that there were two options before they were merged, Mostly as a record. It's up to the managers to decide.

And the managers can come and discuss it here. (In case that was as clear as mud :-))
