Now, we know why we have Winfield DNA 🧬 matches. AncestryDNA many of our Hudson, Lancaster cousins matched Wingfields.

Although, we have the wrong parents connected?

Ancestral File is a collection of genealogical information taken from Pedigree Charts and Family Group Records submitted to the Family History Department since 1978
John Wingfield, son of Thomas and Mary Stegal (1, 2, 3) was born about 1695 in New Kent County Virginia. (2) He married in 1702 Mary “Polly” Hudson in Hanover County Virginia. (3) He and Mary lived most of their lives in the Tidewater section, of Virginia in Hanover County VA. When Mary’s father, ’’Captain Charles Hudson’’’ died, Mary inherited 560 acres of land in Albemarle County, VA. This land, a working plantation , named Prospect, was in the Biscuit Run Valley near the fork of the Hardware River, and about eight miles south of Charlottesville,, not far from Monticello. When the Homestead was built is not known. It still stand and is believed to be the oldest homestead in Albemarle County. John died in Hanover County VA 1755/1759 in Hanover County. (3) His son Charles was the heir to Prospect according to his father’s will, when his mother died. (4) Sources: 1.D NA studies by Brigha Young University’s molecular Genetics Department 2002. 2. -- past Research on both Mary Wingfield (Hudson) and on her husband's file clearly identify her father as Captain Charles Hudson, she inherited her father's 560 acres of land in Albemarle, Virginia, A working Plantation named, Prospect. Her mother was also named. How and we connected did we John Hudson? Wrong parents.

Working on this lineage. Found Captain Charles Hudson,

Suzan Martin Have you found her parents? I don’t think her mother was Susannah (Royall) Ellis?

I think we need more of a cleanup of children of John Hudson & Elizabeth Hudson also.

Yes, I believe so, I got to this generation and then sidetracked a while ago.

Elizabeth Hudson was a Harris-

Mary Wingfield (Hudson) have not figured out who her parents were, she was connected in the tree incorrectly at one time- Her husband was well documented.

Erica Howton thank you for bringing to my attention - I evidently didn't finish documenting Mary Wingfield's (Hudson) profile. We know she fits in some way but may never know who her parents were. We have many Wingfield DNA matching cousins along the Lancaster/Hudson lineage. I came across her profile and noticed she linked to the wrong parents a while ago, it was repaired, but lacked clear notes.

**Christopher Hudson was a Processioning of Lands in Parish in 1716, and there was a processing order dated Sept. 10, 1719, for the lands of Christopher, Charles, and John Hudson, suggesting that they were contiguous. Christopher's name does not appear after 1719, but processing orders appear until long after the death of John, when Lands are referred to Belonging to George Hudson, (eldest son of John) and his Uncle Charles Hudson.

There was no William Alfred Hudson -- in this lineage believe this was mixed up

'William Hudson Will attached probated April 25, 1800, Prince Edward County Virginia, Will Book 3, pg. 180, Prince Edward County Court Records. '

William Hudson DAR National Number 48229 -- Lt. William Hudson was their only son proven by probated Wills.

We need to Relationship Lock all when corrected - looks like someone messed with Lt. William Hudson's Birth date-

The Hudson's were not Quaker-

They were Episcopalian on this lineage.
* [Mary Hudson Mary Hudson]; was a Quaker - born 1692 - they have her father as John Hudson born 1692 --- impossible even not mentioning the religion-

* She's not listed in The St. Paul's Vestry Book, land deeds, nor the probated Will. So, we know she was not his daughter and didn't belong in this Hudson lineage- most likely The Quaker Hudson's that were in VA at the same time.

I think it’s the right parents.

MARY HUDSON, Samuel Bunch’s wife, belonged to a prominent family who owned large tracts of land in that area. Mary was the daughter of John Hudson (who died in Hanover County on 11 April 1732) by his wife Elizabeth Harris.245
