Hi,
To the best of my knowledge, I am a direct descendant of Binyan Ariel, through men only. Does anyone know if he was a Levi? We have some uncertainty in our family about this question, and I have received conflicting opinions from two professors at Bar Ilan University.

Thanks,
Natan

I believe so. But, I have no proof.

Are.there no other living male descendents of the Binyan Ariel, through men only, that you could ask directly? Or is this considered inappropriate?

There are quite a few.

Thanks to everyone for answering. Private User your idea is a good one, funny I never thought of it.

Private User - can you explain why you wrote "I believe so"?

I guess I can try to find such descendants on this site and contact them...

When you go the dna tab, you can get a list of living male line descendants. See https://www.geni.com/list/dna_from?dna_test_type=y&focus_id=600...

Jean Lowenstamm we must be cousins. R' Saul Lowenstam, A.B.D. Amsterdam was my 7th great grandfather. Love to learn more from the Loewenstamm side of the family!

No. Lowenstam family are direct descendant of Rabbi Heschel from Krakow who was "Israel".
Also Babad family are descendants and never wrote that they Levi.
