I'm cleaning up William Ballard, of Andover.

His parents are unknown and we know the names of his NINE children.

I just undid ~ 3 merges and then detached him from the parents, probably of William Ballard, of Lynn.

I am detaching extra, erroneous children, starting with Esther Ballard Jenkes who was a sister or a daughter (but not both!!) of William Ballard, of Lynn I believe.

I'll note what I do as I go along.

Hester 'Ester' Jenckes was both sister and daughter.

I detached daughter from this William Ballard, of Andover, and merged her with the MP Esther Ballard Jenkes

I also locked relationships on William Ballard, of Andover so he can't get parents in future merges without a curator involved.

Detached Nathaniel Ballard as son of this William Ballard, of Andover and merged him with the duplicate MP son Nathaniel, of William Ballard, of Lynn.

Detatched Hester Bond as child of William Ballard, of Andover. No where to put her.

Detached Peleg Ballard, I as child of William Ballard, of Andover. Merged with a Peleg Ballard.

Detached Josiah Ballard as a child of William Ballard, of Andover. He was a grandson.

Peleg was also a grandson.

There were a lot of confusion of generations, dates, and even genders. Peleg was male, not female!!

Merged an Elizabeth Ballard Frost, married to William Frost with Elizabeth Ballard Blount, married to William Blount. Basically so many of the profiles added by one Geni user were attached to the wrong place or had errors in gender, dates, names that I had to do the best I could to merge or place them.

Thanks for your hard work on this, Hatte.

The last issue was two daughters - Hannah and Ann. There is only one daughter with the name Hannah / Ann and she appears to be Hannah in most primary sources.

Someone on FB showed a line between him and me that went through Esther Ballard Jenkes, which is when I started working on this some hours ago.

People should be asking to be manager of Ballards, not creating duplicate profiles and merging them. A lot of work was done on this, especially by curator Erica Howton, to clear up the separate lines of the two William Ballards, one of Andover and one of Lynn.

There was also confusion with a line of I think Henry Ballard with a son who died in Warwick, Virginia. That came out in one of the undo merges I did and I don't think I resolved anything on that line.

Hello Hatte, according to "The Great Migration" William Ballard of Lynn had three children with wife Elizabeth. Hester also referred to as Esther b. act. 1633 m. by 1652 Joseph Jenks, Jr., John b. by 1634 m. by 1669 Rebecca, and Nathaniel b. about 1636 m. 12-16-1662 Rebecca Hutson.
Try "The Essex Genealogist 16:71-74. Also Charles Frederic Farlow's "Ballard Genealogy ..."
For the Andover Ballard there is not much though it is stated Savage muddled the Andover and Lynn families and goes on though say there is no reason to connect to connect the two families. hope this helps, Tim

Thanks Tim! I did see Ballard Genealogy.

My The Great Migration Begins in in storage (still).

Steven Tim Kilburn Is always spot on.

Hatte, thank you so much for your cleanup. I’ll try to get the Lynn family conformed as above (only 3 kids).

Yes, I detached a William Jr. from William, of Lynn and merged him with the William Jr., son of William, of Andover.

Here’s the Ballard Genealogy Book Page on William of Lynn, giving him a 1st wife Mary & a son William Jr. Anderson disagrees.
