I believe Ann Chiles (daughter of Henry Chiles and Margaret Littlepage) is the correct spouse for John Word III. This connection exists in a lot of family trees on MyHeritage and Ancestry. I apologize if this connection is incorrect. Charles Word III appears to be in my family tree.

By the way, this is not the Ann Chiles who married Major John WARD (not Word).

I’ll upload the page shortly, but I do not see a daughter Ann.
Here’s the text
HENRY CHILES,' SON OF WALTER."
Lived in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent county, x699. In the Parish Register are entries of the baptism of Walter and James, children of Henry Chiles, Gent., (699-1706.)
He was elected a vestryman of St. Peter's Parish in 1702. In the records he is called Capt. Chiles. (St. Peter's Par. Reg., p. 73.)
An old deed, found by the writer in the Clerk's office of King Wil- liam county, transfers from Richard Littlepage, Gent., and Frances, his wife, November 2, 1702, 400 acres in King William, formerly King and Queen, on the north side of Paniunkey River, to Henry Chiles, Gent., of St. Peter's Parish, New Kent.
He was a justice in New Kent in 1714. (Va. Hist. Mag., II, 9.)

She’s being a bit of a mystery.
Geni had the wife of Henry Terrell, and widow of John Word, as Ann Chiles, daughter of John (Henry’s brother) and Mary Boucher. However she’s not listed there either. From page 212 - 213:
JOHN CHILES,' SON OF WALTER.'
Mentioned in will of Col. Page, as above stated. Was a messenger of the Council in I693. (Council Journal MSS.)
His first wife was Mary -(Boucher?)
Received a land grant of 345 acres, in New Kent county, on October 3, x690. (L. O., VIII, 97.) Again, in i691, grant of goo acres in same county, " in the freshes of the York River above Mehixtoni." This part of the county was embraced in Hanover county when it was fornmed. The tract was purchased, September, 1744, by Mann Page fromnHenry Chiles, his son. (Hening, V, 278.) Mann Page, son of Mlathew and grandson of Colonel John, was a first cousin of Johii Chiles.
Previous mention has been made of his assignment of the 99-year lease to Sir Edmund Andross.
In 1722 he was granted 3oo acres in King William county. According to this grant he was church warden of St. Mlargarett's Parish. (L. O., II, 86.) His second wife was Eleanor (Eleander) Webber, daughter of Henry Webber, Gent., of St. John's Parish, King William county. Henry Webber mentions Johni and Henry Chiles, sons of John Chiles, in his will as grandsons. (Spotts. Rec.)
Issue: John, Henry, William, Micajah,Mary (mentioned in the will of William Boucher, Hanover County Order Book for 1733), Eleanor, Su- sannah, m. Joseph Martin,of Bristol, Eng., (See Martin Diary and Va. Hist. Mag.); Jane, m. John W. Wright. (Wiilliamand Mary Quarterly, I, ,78.)
He was a justice in King William county in 1714, and in I723 was a member of the Assembly from that county. He died that year.
His daughter, Eleanor, petitioned the Council " to stop the patent to Henry Chiles, or any other children of John Chiles, dec'd, in King Wil- liam." (Spotts. Rec.) Spotsylvania was formed from part of King William. (See William and Mary Quarterly, VI, 105.)
Joseph Martin, who married Susannah Chiles, came to Virginia when a young man, married in King William, and later settled in Albemarle. His wife survived him. They had issue: Joseph and ten other children. Gen. Joseph Martin(third son) was a pioneer and patriot, and Martins- ville, Va., is named in his honor. (Va. Hist. Mag., VIII, 347)
So here’s the core of the problem.
From https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Word-67
“Based on info from "Word Family Heritage: 1652-2008" by Waites/Barton, I deleted Ann Chiles as his wife. There is a record of Ann Chiles born between 1717 and 1726 being married to a John WARD. So this may be the source of the confusion.”
There are no links that can be sourced for information on John from New Kent Co VA. Records were destroyed when John Posey set fire to the courthouse on July 15, 1787. Many records were lost when the courthouse was partially destroyed by fire during Civil War hostilities in 1862. Additional records were burned on April 3, 1865, in Richmond, where they had been moved for safekeeping during the Civil War.

Most of the information we have is from oral family history.
If she was born 1709 she cannot have been the mother of Charles Peter Word, I baptized 1710.
Henry Terrell Was born 1705.
Do we have evidence that John Word, III widow married Henry Terrell next?

Lists her as the child of Henry & Margaret Littlepage. I don’t see a reference ?
Charles Word’s FindAGrave page notes he’s “likely” the youngest of 5, citing the book "Word Family Heritage" by Dick Waits and Wynette Barton.
From https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/172419186/john-word
Information from the book "Word Family Heritage" by Dick Waits and Wynette Barton.
John Word, Jr was born in New Kent County, Virginia colony, the son of a recently indentured silversmith who had immigrated from England.
Records on John Word, Jr are few, as New Kent County files burned twice over the years. Waits/Barton believe he may have been married to a woman named Elizabeth Watkins.
St. Peter's Parish records indicate John's son, Charles Word, was born in 1710. Overall, John Word Jr. is believed to have had five sons, all born and raised in New Kent County.
The birth order of John Word Jr's five sons is uncertain, but here is a summary of them:
1) William married a woman named Elizabeth, and is on VA tax rolls from 1782 and 1800.
2) James may have been born in 1690.
3) Thomas was born around 1700 and lived in Lunenburg Cty, VA in 1745.
4) John III was born sometime before 1710. From 1728 to 1756 he lived in Spotsylvania County, then moved to Halifax County until his death in 1790. John III had eight children, Elizabeth, John IV, Charles, James, William, Thomas, Catharine, and a second Elizabeth. John III's son Charles was killed in 1788 in the Revolutionary War.
5) Charles, baptized at St. Peters May 14, 1710, marrying 1736, and dying in 1792.
The date of John Word Jr's death and his burial place is unknown, but it is likely in New Kent County, VA.
I noticed that ! Not reliable.
This Word book looks decent. Here’s info about it:
https://www.familysearch.org/photos/artifacts/69483532
The FindAGraves configured to the book, except for their confusing double John Word’s. They have Charles as the son of John Jr, not John lll, and the chronology makes more sense. I went ahead and moved around based on it. See what you think.
I’ll chase the Henry Terrell thing up more also.
Very nice document uploads.
This is a little hard to parse out in this format, but it looks like there was an article on “two previously unknown daughters of Henry Chiles” by second wife Mary of many names (Winston, Terrell, Howle) ...

"... Henry Chiles, youngest child of Walter (II) and only child by
Susannah, was living in St. Peters Parish, New Kent County in 1699. He
was elected a vestryman of St. Peters Parish in 1702. In the records

Henry was justice in New Kent in 1714 (Virginia Hist. Mag., Vol. 2,
p. 9).14 He married supposedly Margarett (?) Littlepage, according to

It looks like the John Word, III Marriage is spurious though - wrong generation regardless. Is that OK?
I’ve been advised that Richard Littlepage is not a known parent of Margaret Chiles based on https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=hvd.hnl3cr&view=1up&...
Disconnected.
