Her husband President John F Kennedy is my 16th Cousin 2x Removed. This makes the children of Jackie and John my 16th cousins (thru Jackie’s mom) AND my 17th cousins (thru John) AND my 19th cousins (thru Jackie’s father).

Ancestry.com had a more direct link to 'Jackie' but according to Geni ~ Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis is the wife of my 12 cousin (President) John F. Kennedy.

Give it some time, DJ... Geni will eventually find the most direct route to her. There are many notable people that I connected to in a round-about way when I first searched them here a while back, but now when I look up many of them, if a more direct, alternate lineage has been found, it will still show the original lineage but there will also be a "refresh" symbol that, when clicked on, will show you the new lineage path. I can't tell you how many times someone on Geni went from being, say, my 23rd great grandfather's wife's 2nd cousin's 19th great grandmother, to being my 4th cousin 2x removed. When I first discovered here that JFK is my 16th cousin I immediately did a search for Jackie - but it just showed her as being the wife of my 16th cousin. You have to, for lack of better term, make Geni forget that you are related to JFK, and then search for Jackie, and then it will show if you are related to her in any other way besides being t he wife of JFK. You can do this by logging out, clearing cookies, and then logging back in; or sometimes by rebooting your computer. Or even just waiting 24 hours. At some point Geni will "forget" that you are related to JFK and will show you any lineage to Jackie. I know that sounds crazy and complicated, but after I figured this out its amazing how many new connections to people that I've found! Sometimes through this method you'll even discover that you're related to a person through two totally different lines, for example, thru their mother's line AND thru their father's line (or thru YOUR mother & father's line).
I've always recommended (if you aren't doing it already) that you do a screenshot of the lineage of every person you connect to on Geni, and save it as a jpg image in a folder on your computer. Label each image in this format: Name, Title - Relationship. For example, Queen Elizabeth II is my 5th cousin 15x removed. I would label it:
Elizabeth II Queen of England - 5C 15R
(not Queen Elizabeth of England - 5th Cousin 15x Removed)
Personally, I have a folder full of several smaller folders, each labeled as "Entertainment", "US Government", "All UK Royalty & Nobility", "All Non-UK Royalty & Nobility", etc. In each of those folders are more categories; under entertainment have have folders for "Stage & Screen", "Singers & Music", "Authors", etc. In US Government I have folders labeled "Presidents & VPS & 1st Ladies", "Congress & Cabinets", "US Military". Then I have folders for "US - Pre Revolution", "Native Americans", "Mayflower", "Salem Witch Trials", etc.

When you save all of these screen shots it provides you a back-up for those lineages which would otherwise be lost if Geni gives you a new lineage to any of those people.
