Elizabeth Carmichael Mistress to James v Stewart King of Scotland, Elizabeth Had a son to James in 1531 whose name was John Stewart who later became 1st Lord Darnley, John died in 1563.

John Stewart, 1st Lord Darnley was born illegitimately circa 1531.1 He was the son of James V Stewart, King of Scotland and Elizabeth Carmichael.1 He married Lady Jean Hepburn, daughter of Patrick Hepburn, 3rd Earl of Bothwell and Agnes Sinclair, on 4 January 1561/62.2 He was also reported to have been married on 11 January 1561/62.3 He died circa November 1563.4
He held the office of Prior of Coldingham.1 He was created 1st Lord Darnley [Scotland] in 1562.5

Oh, Terry, this is entirely my fault!

I couldn’t find John Stewart because I was looking in the wrong place.

It has also been a very difficult day, but still, no excuse.

Ah, I see what happened.

The mistresses of King James are all labeled expartners, so they don’t show up in his profile. You have to go to tree view.

That was confusing.

Anne Brannen Maybe we should change that ? It’s technically true I suppose, but makes it very confusing? I’ve been caught that way before too.

If you look at James IV, king of Scots you’ll see as partners. Much easier.

There are two John Stewart`s, had me confused for some time.
this one is mine, No mother listed who is Elizabeth Somerville i believe
