Quincy is my 12th Cousin 2x removed, through my father's side and thru Lanier... interesting note, my Dad, Owen B. Masingill was a mentor of Q's when he was first breaking out in the music biz as arranger, conductor. They were dear friends, worked on a few albums together and although the connection is distant, my dad and Mom Aileen loved Quincy very much, as if he were family. Go figure.
