I’ve been reviewing the parent possibilities with descendant Private User and thought I’d post here for further suggestions for him.
This is what we know so far :
——
Read the list of known children in the profile for Colonel John 'Councillor' Lewis
The only possibility is
viii. Anne Lewis was baptized on 14 Feb 1712 at Abingdon Parish, Gloucester Co., VA.
BUT Clay’s wife was Martha, not Anne!
The clue to a possible relationship with the Lewis family is:
“Another possibility is that she was Martha Lewis, sister to Col. Charles Lewis. Col. Lewis fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant -- the first battle of the Revolutionary War.”
And actually, I’m not sure which Charles Lewis that is. This man is too early to be that Charles:
There are no notes about military service for his son:
Colonel Charles Lilburn Lewis, Jr.
And also, that reference makes no sense for Martha Clay
If the dates for her of approx 1712 - 1764 are accurate. She was a generation, even two, before the Battle of Pt Pleasant in 1774

Thoughts?
This is pretty garbled up ...

Shows he married Martha Runyon and Martha Lewis.
"A great deal of mystery revolves around the identities of William Mitchell's wives. Very little real information is available to support positive conclusions. The best explanation is presented by David Roper. Other researchers have stated that the first Martha was Martha Green, daughter of Thomas Greene and Martha Filmer. This is certainly in error, as this Martha was the wife of Charles Clay, William Clay's brother. Martha's sister Lucy was the wife of William's brother Henry."

This is a couple of generations later.
563. Martha Runyon (Harvey , Henry , John G. , Isaac ) was born in Feb 1844 in Bear Creek, Lawrence Co., KY.
Martha married William Mitchell Clay on 19 Jun 1873 in Lawrence Co., KY. William died on 18 Feb 1890 in Bear Creek, Lawrence Co., KY. He was buried in Stewart Creek Cemetary, Boyd Co., KY

This is not correct
William Mitchell Clay was born 15 Jan 1708 in Henrico County, Virginia, and died 10 Sep 1774 in Battle Of Point Pleasant, Greenbrier (Mason) County, (West) Virginia. He was the son of 2. Henry Clay and 3. Mary Mitchell.
He married Martha Runyon Abt 1729 in Henrico County, Virginia. She was born Abt 1713 in Henrico County, Virginia, and died 1 Jan 1764 in Cumberland County, Virginia. (Could be?)
He married Martha Ann Lewis Abt 1752, daughter of John Lewis and Elizabeth Warner. She was born 14 Feb 1713 in Gloucester County, Virginia, and died Aft 1 Jan 1764. (Cannot be - they had no daughter Martha)
He married Agnes Bef 8 Sep 1768 in Cumberland County, Virginia.
This is possible but I don’t see Sources yet
