Need a double check - looks like he’s gone wandering from his parents.

See https://media.geni.com/p13/a0/c4/f2/37/5344483a18fb4a12/the_visitat...

Stanley, of Weber [and Alderly] “son of _ (Damport) & Thomas Stanley of Weever. husband of Ursula sister of Sir Hugh Cholmondley, parents of Tho.; Rafe (m. Margrett Masterson); Elizab. (m. Roger Downes); ffrances (m. Henry Delves); & Doroty Stanley

Can anyone help identify his correct parents in Geni?

According to this Visitation (Cheshire 1580), he should be Thomas, son of Thomas, son of Thomas, son of John, son of Thomas who married Joan Goushill.

Private User Take a look also - I think we might have eaten up profiles?

And we need more sources.

Should I un do that merge?

1/14/2019 at 3:16 PM

I’d like to see his parents (and further Ancestry) posted to the discussion. There are so many Thomas’s!

Thomas Stanley, ESQ. of Alderley was merged into Thomas Stanley of Weever 1580 by Sharyn "Shaz" Proctor (Duthy).

Is that a yes un do merge?

1/14/2019 at 3:20 PM

Viewing the merge in 2014:

https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=6736942033

Parents were Thomas Stanley, of Elford (merged into the Stafford fellow) & Matilda Stanley (merged into Matilda)

Shazz it may be too many to undo, that’s what I’m worried about. Get it plotted out first?

1/14/2019 at 3:24 PM

I don’t think the Matilda merge can be undone, I don’t see it on her revisions tab.

What is the 1580 for?
Display Name Thomas Stanley of Weever 1580

Birth estimated at Birth Date estimated between 1401 and 1455 I think that is the messup with son of Rafe and Margrett at the bottom of https://media.geni.com/p13/a0/c4/f2/37/5344483a18fb4a12/the_visitat...

Maybe added later?

Thomas Stanley, of Weever & NN Stanley

And they are missing their son Thomas & his wife daughter of Thomas Damport; they are the parents of Thomas who married Ursula.

1/14/2019 at 3:33 PM

He was living in 1580.

1/14/2019 at 3:36 PM

Never mind - this is easy because we have a dup.

I think you got this :)

1/14/2019 at 3:48 PM

Would you like to curate and relationship lock Thomas Stanley, of Weever & his wife, just to spread the pain ?

Steven Mitchell Ferry -- can you take a look at all this? This involves some of the profiles you entered from Wolcott.

1/14/2019 at 5:32 PM

Steve’s profiles were perfect, the rest of the tree was added to them (and conformed to his entries).

I’ve now found another issue, the Weever / Alderley lines mixing with the Bickerstaffe family.

I just rescued Sir Edward Stanley, 3rd Baronet Stanley of Bickerstaffe from the Alderley line but he’s supposedly buried in Virginia (no he isn’t) and has a lot of kids for someone dying at age 28.

This page might be helpful in keeping the baronets separate.

And here’s the “culprit”

Thomas Stanley of New Kent County

From https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Stanley-103

Note The data included in Thomas's Find-a-Grave Memorial is unsourced fictional nonsense. There is no connection between this Thomas and the Stanley's of Bickerstaff. His parentage and exact place and time of birth are unknown. His 2 wives names are unknown. ....

——

Now find the rest of his family in Virginia.

I will look and add those when you are done, do not want to cross your path today :) You are on a roll!!

1/14/2019 at 6:44 PM

I’m done, I think. Added citations to the Weever profile group but couldn’t get the wonderfully annotated document added to the missing people.

WOW how beautiful. Thanks. Sorry didn't realize it was straight away to add.

1/14/2019 at 7:26 PM

No time like now! Another pair of eyes and pass at filling in details is way overdue. Those are beautiful - you could add links to the page in profile “abouts.”
