I’ve been running across interesting information about emigrant to South Carolina.

Did you know many came from England > Barbados? I did, vaguely, but lots of detail here:

Did you know that in a roundabout way, Benjamin Franklin, Signer of the "Declaration of Independence" was involved?

He had a brother in law, Capt. Robert Homes who brought over in his sloop emigrants from the Ulster Plantation (Northern Ireland) to Massachusetts, settling in the “frontier” areas of Massachusetts and Maine.

They spread out, going to Pennsylvania and Delaware and the Carolinas, creating a kinship network of ardent supporters of the Revolutionary cause, up and down the Eastern seaboard.

So it wasn’t just Charleston ....
