She is my 28th great grandmother. How do you generate these tidy and compact reports? I am new to Geni. Karen

Greetings;
I have found these paths intereisting as they become my cousins, yet they portray the married surnames of the ladies. this i find cumbersome as the spouse (spice) are then unknown... is there a way of including the DoB & Dod in these lists???
Regards
Derek T. Rowswell

Before you accept these paths as gospel, remember that this is a public and open entry genealogy. Often, there is no supporting sources and you must view connections with a very critical eye. But, having said that, have fun with it.

Rachel Kay Beal is Charlemagne's 32nd great granddaughter
Karen Marie Soderberg Mills is Charlemagne's 36th great granddaughter.
Michael McManus is Charlemagne's 34th great grandson.
Derek Rowswell is Charlemagne's 35th great grandson.
Steven Mitchell Ferry is Charlemagne's 34th great grandson.

I do have a point - which is not raining on this parade. I felt like the luckiest person on Geni that Charlemagne was my (something-th) Great Grandfather. Until I found out that everyone with western European ancestry is also related directly to Charlemagne. So far I found one woman who was not closely related to Charlemagne - the reason being that she had some native Finnish ancestry.

So here is a reason to really feel fantastically lucky and incredibly special. Whether you believe your tree started with Adam and Eve or a single celled microscopic animal floating around the ocean some 2-ish billion years ago - one fact is the same. Had one of the millions of ancestors in your tree died 100 years ago or 5000 years ago - you don't exist. But you are here - reading this. So I would say - if we could start life on Earth all over again - the chance of you becoming you would be zero. Vastly less likely than winning the lottery - even winning 10 consecutive lotteries would be more likely.

Where ever you come from and no matter who your relatives are - you are fantastically lucky and incredibly special!

Please dont post your relations under the discussion heading....this space is for questions and discussions about the profile. Any of us following these same profiles(our ancestor too) gets their discussion box filled with you posting your connection to the person in profile. Right now my feed is full of Rachael K Beals posts of how she is related to different profiles. It is just very annoying.

Margaret (1045-1093) was an interesting figure. She flees north after the invasion and her ship ends up in Scotland,. By 1070 she is married to Malcolm III and goes on to be Queen Consort for 23 years, developing a reputation for piety and generosity, perhaps in contrast to the somewhat brutish Malcolm.
One of her achievements is the establishment of a river ferry on the Forth estuary which continued up until the road bridge was built in 1964. North and South Queensferry are so-named after her.
Three of her sons became King of Scots, including one named Edgar and she was later canonised by the Church, with her Chapel in the grounds of Edinburgh Castle being the oldest building in the City.
So that means Scotland's most famous royal saint was a "Sassenach" from the House of Wessex...

Saint Margaret was canonised in the year 1250 by Pope Innocent IV in recognition of her personal holiness, fidelity to the Church, work for religious reform, and charity. She attended to charitable works, and personally served orphans and the poor every day before she ate. She rose at midnight to attend church services every night. She was known for her work for religious reform. She was considered to be an exemplar of the "just ruler", and also influenced her husband and children to be just and holy rulers.

The Roman Catholic Church formerly marked the feast of Saint Margaret of Scotland on June 10, because the feast of "Saint Gertrude, Virgin" was already celebrated on November 16, but in Scotland, she was venerated on November 16, the day of her death. In the revision of the Roman Catholic calendar of saints in 1969, November 16 became free and the Church transferred her feast day to November 16.[1] However, some traditionalist Catholics continue to celebrate her feast day on June 10.

She is also venerated as a saint in the Anglican Church.

Rachel Kay Beal I would take it that you must descend from someone with blue eyes at some point with that eye color you have. Science has declared that all people with blue eyes or who descended from someone with blue eyes share one common ancestor. I tried to ask the web if that includes people with hazel, green, etc. It seemed to say yes and that stands to reason, in my opinion, as they all pull away from the very predominant brown that's in I'd say more than 80% of the 8,000,000+ total population on record currently. We definitely share ancestry from England, but I have a feeling of shared ancestry from other parts of the world like Mesopotamia and Egypt.

6/5/2023 at 9:43 AM

Oh, and do any of you know if you are related to any Moorish royalty, possibly descend from, such a Philippa of Hainault? I'm curious about ties from these British Isles and European people to Asia and Africa.
