This site says that John Wallace of Craigie, who married Sibella Cathcart, was the son and heir of Hugh Wallace of Craigie.
Just wondering how accurate that site is?

I’ve found it good, but there is some uncertainty here.

Review the notes on this site:

So if that is the case, how do you know to change the tree? I'm just being curious. Also, the numbering of Craigie/Riccarton seem to make the most sense the way it is currently listed.

Also, ( and I can put this under the correct profile) I have seen some conflicting info re: William Wallace (Braveheart)'s father was Adam vs. Malcom. Would this make that more plausible? I haven't gotten that far down the line.

Numbering is not the best way to determine family relationships. There could be differing number schemes from different authorities. Brothers could inherit the title ... so could more distant cousins, etc.

My understanding is that different people have different ancestry for “braveheart” at different times, and that there is no certainty on it.

Ok. Thanks. That helps. I'm hoping yours is the right one, as it is the one I have seen the most.

But that’s all it is - the one we see the most right now.
