OH no.. please reverse my merge. I had them stacked to look and when I went back after posting above, I clicked Merge instead of Not a Match. I just did the husband. Thanks
Reverend James Wheeler, of Washington County, VA

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 - unless I’m misreading, Geni represents the notes in about correctly for Joseph Keyes, of Bolton

I don’t know where the other Keys man is at so not worrying about it.

Rebecca Keys was disconnected from him by another Geni user yesterday but no husband added.
My interest is Ruth Honeycutt who is my 6th great aunt.
Thank you for looking--- I will revisit

It seems obviously not a match to me, but I bet they get merged in the future if not MP.

Dean Richard Hobart - One side of the McCollums was added via GEDCOM in February. Geni Customer Service removed that user as a manager on some of the profiles.
And not a lot of documentation on any of the profiles.

Daniel McCollum, Jr. (1781-1832) was not the son of Ensign Daniel McCollum, Sr. & Sarah Mccollum Their son Daniel was born 1813.

That’s a start.

Pvt. Abijah Williams

Please MP and lock his data fields. Two different people have changed his name, before finally removing it and all his data. He's a DAR patriot and I'm not sure why someone would remove everything, when it's all confirmed in his bio.

Private User - MPd & locked Pvt. Abijah Williams

See https://www.geni.com/discussions/271219?msg=1659566 that was attached to his profile. Another “wrong Eunice” needs to be moved also.

Elizabeth Ishmael is supposed to be two different people; Elizabeth Grimes and Jane/Jenny Unknown, according the husband's DAR records. However, her bio questions if she was even married to Benjamin Ishmael

I think this merge was the first one that combined the two wives, but the one on the right was private, so I'm not positive. https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=71345333060

These two would have also been wrong.

Sarah Prescott

There have been an enormous amount of merges, husbands and disconnections on her. The confirmed matches (there are a lot) all have her married to John Prescott, but some have other random husbands thrown in, in addition to John Prescott, which makes me think there also might a lot of online confusion for her.

I think thing went off the rails a long time ago, probably back in the 2010 update, so I'm not sure what's the best way to fix it. It's a MP and there is a bio.

I forgot to include this.

Sarah had been erroneously connected to Jonas Prescott as one of his wives and thinking that the name on the right was in error, I merged Jonas and John in 2022, but I think she had problems long before that. https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=81595540780

Probably because of this previous merge - https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=71324403620

Benjamin Ishmael (Do we have a source for middle name?) described his wife in 1823 as being about 50 years old, without giving her name.

See https://www.geni.com/photo/view/6000000004151565722?album_type=photos_of_me&end=&photo_id=6000000007144300341&project_id=&start=&tagged_profiles= (Pension files attached as photos)

Assuming that’s Jenny, she was born say 1773, so you have to extend Elizabeth Grimes? Death date to 1798 as per https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Grimes-41 or invent more wives.

“Elizabeth has no known sources except a mention in her husbands' will.”

lastly, I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Jenny Ishmael …”

so that’s where the Elizabeth Jane Grimes put together comes from. Im with DAR, there two wives. But they’re only dealing with 2 kids.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ishmael-4 comments:

Thank you, but I am aware of the controversy concerning the identity of Benjamins' wife. Arguments on both sides have been going on for a while. As of date, no new definitive evidence has come to light.

And I agree with that also. There was more than one Elizabeth Grimes in the world.

DAR comments they have no idea which woman was mother. So, they’ve done what they could.

I think we’re good enough for now.

Benjamin Russell Ishmael, Sr. Was Benjamin Ishmael nephew. Born 1736 is generally too early for middle names (except double barrelled Germans of course).

Reverend Edward Bulkeley is locked to the wrong mother.

Here's his dup. Reverend Edward Bulkeley

Elizabeth Brown has a burial date 10 years before his death date and both fields are locked.

Private User Re. Sarah Prescott cleaned up and reunited her husbands MP.

Some of her children had drifted to Jonas or to 2nd wife, and there were more children, probably, than listed in the Prescott Memorial. That needs more thoughts.

The McCollums have been a thorn in my side. So much of the information on them is sketchy, I would like to clean it up, but I do not trust the data I have.

Charles Randall Hensley - Can you give us a URL for one of the McCollum profiles that you are questioning?

Emily In my personal notes I have 4 different paths from Old John McCollum to Joab McCollum. So I do not trust any of the trees I find on line without references to primary documents. I have not looked at GENI's MccCollum tree in a while now.

Charles Randall Hensley - we did some cleanup from John Neil "Old John" McCollum, Sr. last week actually. Needs more, and no one has brought primary sources, but it should be better.

John David "Big Valley Dave" Lay
has some issues--- how many wives?
Lots of merges and disconnections

Steven Arnold Woods, Sr probably part of the reason--- seen as Cherokee and married Big Dave's daughter Sarah "Sally" Woods

John Clough, of Salisbury

MP header says parents are unknown, but parents are attached and locked (no relationship tab). Also, there's a pending merge.

I had inadvertently merged Abigail Dunton and Abigail Dunton both of whom are the spouse of Lieut. John Dunton

I had them unmerged, but the children now have two mothers and it seems there are some issues in determining who the mother is.

The husband has a DAR record, which does show both wives, but the data doesn't compute.

The first wife is supposedly Abigail Walker, who died in/after 1810, but John supposedly married Abigail Heal in 1774. Abigail Heal has an 1813 death date, which is the same as John.

Some of the children in the DAR record don't specify which Abigail is their mother. When the Abigails were unmerged, it looks like both of their FAG bios remained in the one profile, but the link for Abigail Heal has been removed from FAG.

I checked Ancestry and there really isn't any documentation that would confirm either wife.

https://services.dar.org/Public/DAR_Research/search_adb/?action=ful...

Geneanet breaks the children down as follows:

Abigail Heal's children:
Abner Dunton
Elizabeth Dunton
Isaac Dunton
Marcy Dunton
Peter Dunton
Timothy Dunton

Abigail Walker's children.
Abigail Dunton
Andrew Dunton
Deborah Dunton
John M Dunton
Josiah Dunton
Mary Dunton

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/63334083/dunton is probably mislabeled and should be Abigail Heal. We don’t know the death date for 1st wife Abigail Walker, so set her for “before 6 Sept 1774.”

See https://georgetownhistoricalsociety.org/genealogy/getperson.php?per... with vital record citations.

See https://westportisland.us/images/site/body-images/Dunton_Family.pdf page 4-5 for description that he had 2 wives, 14 children, and Abigail Heal’s death in 1814.

This study looks more reliable than Geneanet and breaks the children differently. But really, if there are birth dates, it’s easy enough to separate.

[NI0211] John was commissioned a Lieutenant in May 1776 and was on the Bagaduce expedition in Maine during the Revolutionary War. The Dunton's later settled on Jeremymasquam Island, now Westport. On April 3, 1809 their heirs sold their interests in John's homestead to their brother Peter.

John is buried in Dunton East Shore Cemetery, Westport, Maine. "Maine soldier Spouse Abigail Walker" on his tombstone. Source: Michael L. Dunton, Molalla, Oregon.
