Erica Howton - The rest of the children of Joseph & Elizabeth are in Harvard VR. https://archive.org/details/vitalrecordsofha00harv/page/106/mode/2up

My take on the split of the children is that their property was on the line between the two towns. (Part of Stow was carved out to become Harvard.)

I had originally thought like you did, that Jonathan of Stow had to be the son of Joseph & Elizabeth. But the military service for Joseph & his sons fits much more with Colonel, and the children of Jonathan are pretty much of Stow. And everyone incorrectly has Sarah Whitman married to the Col.

I’m seeing a theory that Col. Jonathan was a son of Thomas Weatherbee & Sarah Weatherbee

Which makes no sense to me but fits your idea.:)

How do you counter the published pedigree placing Col. Jonathan as son of Joseph & Elizabeth?

Here’s a well sourced internet tree that places Col. Jonathan with Joseph & Eliizabeth.

Note for Joseph:

That two of his sons had served under him in the 8 months campaign at Cambridge [in 1775]. [MSS 16-929] Conjecture that the two sons are Jonathan and Joseph as sons from 2nd marriage would be too young.

I think he posted at Wikitree.

I’ll add a PDF version to Joseph.

There’s no indication Jonathan of Stow did military service.

Ah ha!

John Wetherbee of Marlboro and Stow Massachusetts, Vol. I, Page 89 lists 4 possible ancestors: Thomas-15, Edward-18, Phones-17, and Silas-21.
So, I now am thinking we show no parents for either Jonathan, unless we can find a stronger association with Jonathan of Stow with Joseph & Elizabeth.

Thanks for finding the source.
I agree that Jonathan, son of Joseph & Elizabeth, belongs to Abigail Farwell based on the death record. (It has his age at death.)
Without a gravestone or death record, we cannot be sure when Sarah's Jonathan was born.

What do you make of Farwell sisters of Groton marrying Wetherbee brothers of Harvard if Col. Jonathan wasn’t actually a brother? And what’s up with the names for his kids? Aside from (wait for it … son Jonathan), they are not very Wetherbee - ish names, are they?

Since Sarah Whitman Whitney died so young, I wondered who raised up her kids. Capt. Whitney seemed a very short term guardian. I was thinking her brother, Capt. Thomas Whitman since he posted bond. So, why not Wetherbees as guardians?

We have the probate record for Jonathan of Stow, he died in 1793. No real clue for his birth date. Sarah was born 1761.

OK, I’m about to upload from John Wetherbee of Marlboro and Stow Massachusetts, Vol. I, Page 89 lists 4 possible ancestors:

Thomas-15, Edward-18, Phones-17, and Silas-21.

It refers to Sarah Whitman’s Jonathan of Stow.. This book (1991) shows Col. Jonathan the same way the other pedigrees do, as son of Joseph & Elizabeth of Harvard.

About "What do you make of Farwell sisters of Groton marrying Wetherbee brothers of Harvard if Col. Jonathan wasn’t actually a brother?" - Since I have come around to the thinking that Col. Jonathan Weatherbee IS the husband of Abigail Farwell, for her sister Mercy to marry a younger brother (actually half-brother) is fine and normal. (Countless other Colonial families did the same thing.)
No clue on why no Weatherbee came forward for the children of Sarah. Without knowing his origins, he may not have had family to help.

This was a really interesting case, because we flipped our thinking several times (at least, I did). Thanks for digging in.

I’ve gotten all Wetherbee kids entered on both families. Naturally, some dups flew on in.

Susanne Floyd - I traced the new tree down. It links to the user - all manually added. Elisabeth Hallock does not have all of her children according to her profile on WikiTree.
Thanks for finding this.

Both of these trees have issues. The one on the right has 46 children, many of which can be merged, but I'm hesitant to get involved in something that's already problematic, just in case there are other issues.

The one on the left seems to have the wrong date, since her mother was still a child when she was born, but mother has a few other births when she was a child.

Private User - don’t merge the Gedcom file. We need to deal with the existing tree first.

Gedcom - DONT MERGE Diana Bentley

Existing tree - Diana Bentley

Private User

I added more sources & bios to Dinah ‘Diana’ Bentley & Green Bentley, Sr. & revised some dates & locations. Diana really did marry young, the locations really are all over, and they really had at least 9 children.

I’ll try to isolate the Gedcom file.

Everything matches, except the fathers. Father Presley Petty seems to have been an issue for quite some time. I couldn't find anything for him online, except for trees with no sources, which were all over the place and some even referenced the Geni tree.

His father Joseph Petty, Sr. has conflicting parents, one of which is a zombie, and a zombie wife.

Private User - cleaned the tree around Joseph Petty, Sr. & added sources.

John Fuller should be unmerged from these parents at link below. MP issues. Looking at WikiTree sources and FamilySearch, seems to be two William Fuller men.

Capt. William Fuller, Colonial Gov. of Maryland

https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/2358694

The profile on the right has conflicting fathers, one of which matches the father on the left, but the father on the left has conflicting fathers. Merges were done today, not sure if they need to be unmerged.

Also, here's a pending merge request. https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/2358694

Annber Lynn Collins

Thank you for calling attention. I’ve locked relationships for Sarah Fuller & Capt. William Fuller, Colonial Gov. of Maryland and separated John Fuller, of Baltimore County who married Hester Wright from them.

Thank you Erica. :)

Re: Abraham Bush, Sr.

Now that I look at this a little more, there were existing problems.

Wives Ann Bush and Martha Bush were having children at the same time. Their marriage dates also don't jive.

Wife Sarah E. Bush married him 30 years after he died at age 64.

Son William Walton Bush was born 89 years after he died. I'm not sure if that's just a typo, or if he's misplaced.

I don't really work in this area of the tree, I think I ended up here, because I was trying to take care of an unfinished merge.

Private User - I understand. I’ll give it another go-round,

Private User - I found more correct parents for William Walton Bush He was already in Geni.

Private User

Resolved for Martha Hazard We do not know the parents of her father George Potter, of London so there’s no conflict, only theories.

There’s a Gedcom in progress.

Before I merge William Glanville (old) with William Glanville (new) does anyone have credible source(s) on his birthdate?
