Erica Howton There's a couple of pending merges on Don Juan de Jasso, however the 'father' Martín de Azpilcueta Jaureguízar, Señor de Azpilcueta of his wife on the MP can't be correct. I'm familiar with that rather famous historical person who has no known family that I'm aware of, plus he's born long after his alleged 'daughter' María de Azpilcueta y Aznárez de Sada, Señora de Javier

I uploaded a scholarly pedigree study of the Atondos, if that helps any. I spent all day translating the thing into English, but included the original Spanish version for reference since I'm only an amateur 'translator', lol.

Another thing I did was added a source with some significant historical facts to the profile that is currently the father-in-law of not one but two of this same Martín de Azpilcueta Jaureguízar, Señor de Azpilcueta three unproven wives.

The [alleged, unproven, likely incorrect] father-in-law for this man was Martin de Aznárez de Sada, Señor de Javier and the document I provided in his About reveals how the noble Aznarez family became the lords of Castle Javier in the year 1252.

I'm not sure if this is the right discussion, but I have a question.

This merge was done earlier today, which was a good merge, but the birth dates were different and it should have caused a data conflict. There is no "resolve conflicting data" and nothing in the revision tab that indicates someone already took care of it. It retained the original date, but it's not locked or MPd.

Why is that happening? I've seen this a few times before, but now I'm wondering if it's a widespread problem, or an isolated glitch?

Also, I sometimes see in my homepage feed that so-and-so updated "John Doe", but when I look at the profile revisions, there is either no update showing, or there was an update, but not by the person listed on the homepage feed, if you happen to know anything about that.

Hi Private User , I noticed that too with one of the last merges I made before taking my most recent break. I think it was a different one where I began noticing the absence of "Resolve Conflicting Data". It took me by surprise, was very unexpected.

But in any case with the one you reference here, it looks to me like "Geni" did automatic updates of the birth and death on that profile. That may have eliminated the conflicting data, I suppose.

All Geni did was add the birth and death locations that were included in the merged duplicate profile. Or maybe there are other details I'm overlooking?

Okay, I see that Alice Armstrong (Lyon) Chambers' duplicate's somewhat irregular naming convention ("Alice-Armstrong") somehow 'magically' fixed itself? Or was that you, as the manager of her profile?

For Alice Armstrong Chambers no conflict because the profile on left had empty location fields.

Magdalena Gockley Should have generated a data conflict on the birth date (4/1753 vs 4/15/1756). But need to be sure data conflicts weren’t resolved by a person and we don’t see that action in the revisions tab.

No, Ann Parker Lyon merged correctly with no d/c because Parker was the (implausible) middle name.

She is by the way looking like and error: married to both John Lyon, II & Lt. William Lyon - I will undo merge.

Erica and Debra, yes, it was the dates on Margaret Conklin Shirk that should have caused a conflict.

Yes, I updated the title on Lt. William Lyon, but not from a d/c. Here's the merge: https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=84616664720

The one on the right had Lt. in the first name field and William as the middle name. I can see that one being "automatically" corrected, but not the date on Margaret. The old date on Margaret was just a month and year, whereas the new date had month, day and year, but Geni booted the one with the complete date and kept the one that was just month and year.

I'd have to assume the ones present before the duplicate was merged. And then I wondered whether it should be unmerged. But idk, since the birth and death dates match, as does one of the wives.
