I match dna with this family as do my siblings and 4 cousins, however, I do not know how we fit in. My ancestor is John Coleman born 1770 in Fayette County, Pa. He was married to Margaret Savage. I believe that his father was Joseph Coleman born 1736 married to an Elizabeth and they resided in Fayette County, PA. Other children of Joseph and Elizabeth were Joseph Jr. married to Elizabeth Ashcraft, Mary Coleman, married to Enoch Thomas, Nathaniel Coleman, married to Abigail, Abigail Coleman, married to Jacob Kyle. If you know how this family fits in the Robert Coleman family.
, please let me know,

My ancestors must parallel yours. Mine are Daniel Coleman, “Jr.,” b. b/w. 1680-93; d. before 22 Jan. 1770; m. Patience Elliot b. 1695; d. before 26 Aug 1771; m. 1735-6, Cumberland Co., VA

Son: Daniel Coleman b. abt 1717, King Wm. Co.VA; d. before 23 Nov 1772, Cumberland Co, VA; m. Patience Thompson b. abt 1714; d. after 1772, age: 58
Children:
John Daniel Coleman (bef 1737 - bef 17 Sep 1784)
Colonel Stephen Coleman (17 Nov 1739 – bef 17 Sep 1798
James Coleman (abt 1740 –
Lucy Coleman (abt 1741 –
Elizabeth Coleman (abt 1743 – aft 1774)
Captain Spilsbe Coleman (abt 1746 – aft May 1807)
Rev Benjamin Coleman (3 Sep 1751 – 13 Sep 1834)
William Coleman (2 Jan 1760 – bef 30 Aug 1806)

The following generation for me is through Daniel Coleman (b. abt. 1717) and Patience Thompson (b. abt. 1714), then through their daughter, Lucy Coleman (b. abt. 1735), who married Nathan Glenn.

I also have a copy of the book by Judge J. P. Coleman of Ackerman, MS, about the Colemans from 1652-1965. You are welcome to email me at jmccully@iastate.edu

I would like to submit my DNA too as my tree also has Col. Robert Colman!
