Throughout my research this day (1 May 2018), everything points to a set of facts 1) he was king over three kingdoms; Dardania, Acadia, and Athens. Potential fact 2) he had a presumed date of birth, and, 3) he died a human's death. Since I am a believer in the King of Kings, Yeshua HaMashiach, and do not believe in the Mythologies of the Greeks. With the first three facts listed, and being a believer in the words of Saul (better known as Paul, the disciple, that man is destined to live only one death). Therefore, with the above listed facts, I must conclude that Erichthonius was the son of Darda ben-Zerah, son of Yehuda ben-Ya'acov, son of Yitzak ben-Avraham, and Erichthonius matrilineal line of Batea d'Teucri, daughter of Teucer d'Teucri, and great-grandso of Scamander d'Teucri; Erichthonius is a "human being" who lived and died after serving as king of Dardania, Acadia, an Athens.
Jeffrey and Shmuel - I am very grateful for your comments. Unfortunately, I have had very little facts to base my "guess work" on. I wish there were more factual archeological data to either back up my "guess work" or refute it all together. It is a historical fact that he lived and ruled over the three kingdoms. It too is a historical fact that he died a human death. My next statement of his somewhat apparent birth is purely conjecture. As a believer in the existence of my L*rd and Master, I am guessing that king Erichthonius was born of a simple woman, and, not a progeny of the so called "goddess", and, I use the term extremely lighthearted, his purported mother Athena, her most commonly used name. I too, am relying on three or four individuals inclusion of Erichthounius as a member of their genealogical research and conclusions, and, their inclusion as to his relationship to these individuals use of the Patriarch Yehudah ben-Yitz'ak. I am very willing to accept correction of Erichthonius' humanity or his existence as a lessor Greek god, with no standing in light of my very, very strong belief in the Master of Legions, the G*d of Avraham, Yitz'ak, and Ya'akov. as it is they who have been at the centre of my ancestral background and belief. The only reason I do not render their identities is out of respect for someone whom I no nothing about other than the three or four individuals who have based their genealogical results. With all due sincerity, and, lack of personal knowledge of their qualifications, and, with all due respect to the both of you, Micah ben-Yehudah.
By the way Jeff, we call the "First (Old) Testament", the TaNaCH. That is its real title, not the old or first testament. Blessings be upon you, Micah ben-Yehudah. Oh and one other thing, the correct pronunciation of my first name is pronounced as Meekuh, not Mykuh, as most Christians would mis-pronounce it. It is one of our beloved prophets; and one last note, we do not call our prophets "major" or "minor" prophets as is the proclivity of the Ministers of the Christian Testament. I do not mean to sound argumentative; I just want to spread some Hebraic information. Again, blessings, on you both. One last thing Jeffrey, can you give a simple run-down of this Joseph Farah's book?
Shmuel-
I forgot to add a note for you. Erichthonius had an earthly father - Darda.son of Zerah, son of Yehudah. Regardless of the writings of Plato and possibly others, he was the Great-Grandson of Yehudah ben-Ya'akov. He was born anywhere from -1450 BCE and as late as -1347 BCE. He died as early as -1386 BCE (although the most likely date was---> -1368 BCE) and as late as -1338BCE. these dates and reverse lineage tend to indicate his humanity, not his mythos.. Between those time periods, parentage and heritage, and the above guess-work, I tend to err on the side of his HUMANITY.
Shmuel-
I have to reiterate the data from the 3rd of May. He had an earthly father - Darda.son of Zerah, son of Yehudah. As yet, I have not been able to identify his earthly mother. Again, not to cast aspersions on the writings of Plato, and others who tend to put their whole belief systems in the same basket as Plato, there is no possible method to validate any portion of their mythological beliefs. He was the Great-Grandson of Yehudah ben-Y'aakov. The dates of his humanity were as early as -1450 BCE; and he died as early as late as -1368 BCE. Again, these dates and the use of reverse lineage tend to indicate his humanity, again, not his mythos.. Between those time periods, parentage, and heritage, and the above admitted guess-work, again, I tend to err on the side of his HUMANITY.
Jeffrey - I read the articles by Farah, and the Book sounds extremely interesting to me. You apparently you failed to realize, however, his book is not due to come out until September. Now, if you can obtain a copy early for me (LOL) early I'll take it. As I said, the title and his description make the edition sound extremely, and I do mean extremely drawing to one like myself. I have been told I am a typical Jew when it comes to my reading material, and my hording of everything from my several copies of the Chumash, through my copies of literature from SkyWatch to my full set of the Talmud.
I do have to tell you, Jeffrey, Yeshua never advocated a new religion; what we have is a heresy promulgated by the heretic, Saul of Tarsus. Its title should not be called Christianity. it is truly refered to by many as Paulianity. Even Yeshua advocated in two locations in the B'rit Chadashah, first, that if we desire "eternal life," we need, no, we must follow without fail, the Torah (Mattityahu 19.17a). Secondly if we love Him, we, again, must obey the commandments (Yochanan 14.15) He verifies the necessity to do so in the Hitgalut verse 12.17. If you wish to speak to me, my number is 720-810-9796 or my email of olingergallegos@msn.com. Blessings, Micah.
The "original" source is a 16th or 17th century propaganda genealogy.
In Greek mythology, Dardanus ("Darda") was the son of Zeus ancestor of the Dardanians. Renaissance historians reasoned that since the Greek gods were false and the Bible genealogies were true, and since Zeus was so important he must be in the Bible somewhere, Zeus must be Zarah, son of Judah in the Bible.
Very tidy. One more link in an imaginary chain that let the Capets and Habsburgs show themselves as male-line descendants of both Biblical and Trojan lines.
