Any Jewish genealogists who say they have umpteen thousands people in their tree invariably have portions of the famous Fraenkel family genealogy, one of the earliest published attempts to build a large-scale Jewish family tree.

Recently I have been using the resources we have available for Prague to make some major improvements in the Prague branch of the Fraenkel family among the descendants of Chief Rabbi of Prague and Bohemia Aaron Spira Wedeles (1599-1679). See https://www.geni.com/list/descendants/6000000008473173516#10 (warning! it will take a while to load up 10 generations, about 4,800 people).

I still have a few riddles to solve, which I will post here, in case anyone else wants to help solve them.

Dear Randy,

to point D.

Found this entries at the church Matky Boží před Týnem where the parents of Leopold Josef Frankl are listed.

http://katalog.ahmp.cz/pragapublica/permalink?xid=282063E28C1A4FC39...

and this: http://katalog.ahmp.cz/pragapublica/permalink?xid=282063E28C1A4FC39...

So you can merge the profiles of his parents now.

I'll try to help unsolve the other.

Greetings from Vienna,

Katerina Schulz

Excellent! Great work!

To point A.

Found this entry for Hermann Simon Moses Neustadtl saying his wife Rosel was born in 1806.

Birth of Rosel Frank here: http://www.badatelna.eu/fond/1073/reprodukce/?zaznamId=3276&rep...

So her father would be Koppelmann Bermann Frankl And Ester her mother.

On the police registrations they said she was born in 1810 but mistakes happen, we know that well.

Hope that's a hit.

Katerina

Hermann Simon Moses Neustadtl at the census of 1831 and family.

That looks good to me. Thanks again.

We have a crimInal case here.

In Ewa Frankl/Bunzel's death record was written she died of injuries and bleeding.

http://www.badatelna.eu/fond/1073/reprodukce/?zaznamId=3567&rep...

So I looked in the newspaper archive and found this article. So she was the victim of a murderer.

http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/anno?aid=dea&datum=18470319&a...

Added the links to her profile.

Adding one more article about the murder case from the "Wiener Zeitung": http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/anno?aid=wzz&datum=18470308&a...

If you like reading about famous murder cases, take a look at the stories about the murder of my ggg-grandfather Ernst Katscher. https://www.geni.com/profile/documents/6000000002765614399

Yes, I kind of do. Thank you for sharing. What a story.

Eavesdropping on your conversation. Since I have a hard time reading the old German script, who killed Ewa Bunzel and why? Also Randy is it confirmed that your great something grandmother Barbara was not Jewish? Because it seems that she was buried in a Jewish cemetery and to my knowledge that would be highly unusual.

Dear Rosie,

the story goes like that...74 years old Eva Bunzel, wife of a rich businessman Jakob died from three wounds from a knife to her head and throat. As her husband returned from the synagogue he was also hurt. Convicted was 19 years old A. Glaser from a wealthy family. He later said he had the desire to kill, inspired from reading books. He had written in his diary he has to sharpen the knife he bought.

Can't recall which Barbara. Could you please share the profile you mean.

Katerina

Barbara Schmied - Katscher
Randy says Barbara was not Jewish but she married a Jewish man and her son Ernst married a Jewish woman. I find that strange since the profile of her son Ernst says he was buried next to his mother in a Jewish cemetery. It would be very unusual to find a non Jewish person buried in a Jewish cemetery.

Rosie Just

Barbara Katscher Braschinsky is around many corners and the manager is Randy Schoenberg.

The family story was that she was not Jewish (my mother is named after her). But that may have been false. Yes, she must have died Jewish since she is buried in the cemetery.

Thanks for all this work! I'm usually in Prague in July, if anyone is visiting or needs photos, etc. Alice

Hello. I'm wondering whether anyone has ever looked for the Frankl "Familien Buch" in Prague. My grandfather, Paul Frankl's cousin, Freiderich Frankl mentioned the book in a typed out family tree that brought that branch of the family back to the 1500s.

I'm quite overwhelmed by the thought and contents of the Genealogical Tables for Jewish Families book. Thank you for telling me about it.
