Folks, FYI-- There are 2 new projects for the Cause of Death portal. I you have anyone that may fit in either, I hope you will add them to one of these:

* [https://www.geni.com/projects/Stampede/45569 Stampede] (accidental death) This one is more of a listing of human stampedes, so if you have someone who died in a specific one & would like a project created for that one, please let me know & I will be glad to work on it for you... let me know at the discussion below even though it says "medically related". It is a challenge bouncing around to respond to multiple discussions... :-(

If you have a cause of death not found in the portal, even if not a medically related cause, please leave a message in this discussion: [https://www.geni.com/discussions/164998 Medically related projects] I am a retired RN so have the time and enjoy researching these.

Is there a way to change the title for a discussion??? I started the Medically related projects discussion (mentioned above) before I realized that I might want to include other cause of death projects that aren't medically related such as the above projects. I would like to have one discussion that could cover any cause of death project that might be needed...

No, there isn't. What you could do is start a new discussion and put in a pointer to it in the old discussion

Could someone kindly help me? I accidentally merged the Sir Gervase Clifton profile (Sir Gervase Clifton) with another Gervase Clifton I have, which is probably related but not the same individual.

I went to Geertje Garret Ackerman and looked at the changes... They make sense... I just wasn't able to see my own way through.

What are your Tree Preferences set for Michael? I have mine to show only 3 ancestors, and I do not see the "x2" green tag. Maybe she is showing elsewhere on the tree with your particular settings. Keep in mind that the green "x N" tag means that that one profile appears "N" times on that particular Tree View ... it does NOT mean there are "N" duplicates.

One can always check to see if it is the same profile by:
-- noting the "id" number in the URL as you look at them
or
-- focus the tree view on that profile. The green "x N" should always then disappear from the 'focus' profile.

FYI: Using the excellent "Ancestor Graph" on Gerrtje, I see a "collapse" in the 6-7 generation of ancestors, which could lead to the "x2" see: http://historylinktools.herokuapp.com/graph?profile=profile-g600000...

Of course, Angus fixed a much closer "loop" before I'd looked at it <smile>.

The original 2x was indicative of a tree conflict further down the tree that still needs fixing on my part: I see two different Beekman van Beurens (Beekman and Beekman J.) married to the ?same? woman... So go the perils of merging in the WFT :)..
(I'm not asking for help. This reply is just a reminder for me to do some more research before I go any further with changes)
