Private User thanks. I went through from that point and got rid of the blue boxes. They are Great+ grandparents, so I would have to address them sooner or later.

Also, I still can't get the "Remove match" command from the right hand side of the page where it has a profile at the top, and then lists underneath the possible duplicates.

Anyone else had this problem starting about a week or so ago? The only way to actually remove the match is to use the click box at the left of that page or use the Remove Match at the bottom of the page with any 2 profiles are compared side to side.

Private I have had the same problem with removing incorrect tree matches.

It has been raised to Geni - it’s the weekend so hopefully they’ll fix it next week,

I have found the remove button at the bottom works so we have a work around til themn.

hey PRO Private you too now?

(C) plz UNDO https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=85844043110
and a couple more..

-_- @Dean but can't you see that
# it is a very old abandoned branch deleted user, crossed out.
# conflicts, with the sourced branch (worked on as always by me and Erica)
# in fact all white unsorted.
# the (C) that you see in management, he only received as an automatic inheritance, not worked..
..come on you're always on this forum if you find something like this post it here before starting merge and leave it there unfinished!

(C) Erica Howton PLZ a pair of UNDO

look at this father conflict:
Landenolf di Capua, gastaldo di Teano (c.855-861)

Random dates: --> father of about 1 to 10 years old -_-

started innocently here:
https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=85844040050 (UNDO)
but then it branches out

@Erica from profile of Landolf II-IV "the Red" prince of Capua & Benevento

cut wife Wanzia, DUP.
and destroy 4 cut offs

today, tonight, I will check the rest of the new merged dates..

Please see https://www.geni.com/discussions/272643?msg=1706848 (Adam Montgomery, Knight vs Adam De Montgomery) Please note the disconnect that was done.

Livio Scremin Erica Howton Thanks you both. Sorry about the merge. They all were perfect matches leading up to that of just one or two on a ladder. I should have stopped and pasted where it should be cut. It made sense coming from England and Spain to the Gauls, but then it went to Italy!!

Livio Scremin Erica Howton FYI. I hope you don't think I was making light. I appreciate your time and didn't want to waste it. I will go backward on my path and try to figure out where the cut should have been. It started with great+ grandparents in the 1500s, and it seemed like a simple path. But it turned into false tracking.

But a good way to avoid it, considering this Discussion Group, is >>Please do NOT merge unsourced duplicates into the MEDIEVAL tree<<,

TNX @Dean no problem, your continued good contribution is not in question :)

(C) Erica Howton PLZ a simple quick check on relationship locked field of Gemma di Napoli for automatic system dates:

--> is set, the sourced 898 ? <--

(I remove the old unsourced date of birth c.895 because seems somewhat random, given the sourced marriage exactly 898)
{{PLZ source, explanation, or calculations TNX}}

New tree match added today (June 17): https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000006444302607&src=profile&cmp=btn (Sir William Wadham, Sheriff of Devon an MP)

The new tree is a stick-and-spouse tree with no hard dates. Cut point is Jone Pierce (old) vs Joan Pierce (new). The new profile has a child that is not on Geni.

But I'm not trusting any of this because the "old" profile was added on March 18, 2024.

Phippens have been on Geni a long time. I’ll look for the MP.

Lee family ancestor dupe: duped profile has errors:
MP Francis Constable
dupe Francis Constable

NS @Jenn!
& new user knows the surname for unknown wife of (C:) Erica's MP !!
[maybe;]

https://www.geni.com/search/matches/6000000203263067833

Poland circa 1040

One side is MP with relationships locked.

It appears that there is new information available if the match is valid.

Bernard

VERY LARGE stub branch from TODAY. It goes back and forward over 10 generations from here
https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000008023692297?return=match...

And other places. Definitely goes into the 1300s, and I stopped waiting.

I think this might be where it starts near the present.. https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000206640207851?return=match...

Saw this match https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000081505884077?return=match..., 1300's Italy.

One side was added today and is a part of a stick tree added today that continues14 generations into the past from this match, all duplicates. It also duplicates the WFT for 5 generations of decendants until it gets to this profile: Nobile Giacomo Damiano Bonnici which shows a son not listed in the matching WFT profile, Nobile Giacomo Damiano Bonnici

The duplicate tree should be isolated ASAP.

Bernard

@Bernard 5 hour ago I had privately asked to isolate,
the ad point is in 1500
bho climbing climbs above 1000
the user is from today.
now we need to look for the merge and whoever accepted it, whoever accepted the merge, should be invited here.
Or we'll never get out of it

ladies and gentlemen:

(C) Geoffrey David Trowbridge
--> Award winner, most duplicated line of 2024 [650 <>1550] <--

congratulations from all of us on this forum

yay, more hours of work for (C) Erica (already at work) =^.^=
happy @Erica? :D

OK I'll answer you here, so we educationally entertain someone else:
not only 20 --> manually we can ask the system to see as many generations as you want

39 in this case XD -https://www.geni.com/list/descendants/6000000206664859857#42

PS ..I would like to point out that a clipping is being lost:
DUP. Chilperic I, King of the Franks at Soissons (550)
