Need help with Medieval duplicates, A very large tree, I treid to isolate but it has already tied into the WFT, I can't figure out where to cut to isolate There might me some good data BUT its way out of my knowledge area.
Merges showed up in my merge center as of yesterday.
Alice de Plumpton
Sir William de Plumpton, Kt.
Lady Christiana de Plumpton
John de Mowbray, 2nd Baron Mowbray

Can you post a dup link Linda Zimmerman

Emily Kent Marget - can you find in the new tree to emigrant to the USA or thereabouts, and post the profile link? Use the descendant report from profile, and for any of these dups you see.

Never mind, Anne is on the case. For future ref: an example dup.

Christiana Brewes Plumpton

Erica Howton Yea I meant to copy the Merge link with both profiles. Sorry.

Other tricks to make it easier. I add DUP DO NOT MERGE to title or suffix while I’m trying to figure out. Others have cute icons to add, but I can’t see them from the relationship tab. So that “shout” really makes it easier (for me) to detach the dup tree.

This particular project though has Anne & Sharon sending out polite notes to members. Which I don’t do.

I initially thought I could handle it by my self, But the connection to the WFT went back up and then back down, and branched out to more than one. I could not figure how to follow, and not lose possibly good data.

I totally feel you on that. So I tend to break it up.

Linda Zimmerman - I looked into where it might end. I saw that it went into other families and said "I'm not going to find the bottom of this!" That prompted my warning "There are many more profiles than just those that intersect with my tree!"

Thanks Private User for dealing with it so promptly.

hi new PRO Private User
as you have seen, all the main Middle Ages have already been in Geni for years..
..now avoid duplicating anything else, and if you find it duplicated by new inexperienced users, report it in this forum TNX

(C) PLZ: a mother conflict remains to be resolved on locked Mathilde "Maud" d'Arques
_________
..ah new PRO Private User

and PLZ report other initialized medieval merge conflicts in this forum TNX

https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000003878059458&src=profile&cmp=btn One side was added today.
Match is Sir William "the Elder" de la Pole
Moving down the new tree - DUP Christina de la Pole is a match for Catherine James
Merge to be reversed - https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=85169696060
There are more matches in the Rede (Reade) line. Edmund Rede (MP) vs DUP Edmund Rede

Another (!!) tree match from my merge center (not related to https://www.geni.com/discussions/158450?msg=1677697) that has already been merged (ugh!) https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=85171435750

A tree match - https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000202224317822&src=profile&cmp=btn Nicholas Bristowe (old) vs Nicholas Bristowe, Sr. (added Jan. 20, 2024)

This one looks like it may be good. Manually added parents to Dennis Bristow but no sources to verify.

Private User
welcome but stop duplicating the under 1000

your today (No Name)
is the duplication tree of "Olive" de Tancarville, lady of Coleby

1570
William Hinson
William Hynson

Parents are different but descendants are the same down to

vs

Someone removed this tree match - Elizabeth Hodgson (added Jan. 21, 2024) vs Elizabeth Hodgson (old)
It continues to Sir James A Hodgson (new) vs Sir James A Hodgson
This new PRO user manually added Rychard Hodgson as the father of Arthur John Mall Hodgson

Just now have this tree match - https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000005610537141&src=profile&cmp=btn (MP profile - William Waldegrave) The other side was added Jan. 22, 2024.

Mathilde "Maud" d'Arques has multiple parents to be resolved.

Could be simple, but maybe not!?

@ Craig, I just sent privately the solution to (C)

"for solve Mathilde "Maud" d'Arques
the right ML parents are looked,
for easy solve, just remove "mother single parent" Beatrice di Ponthieu"

is a mistake of new DUP trees of new PRO Private User
*https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=85170392460 (DONT UNDO, just easy cut now)
who doesn't respond to the forum, and he is active and busy doing things even today... somewhere else /!\

*the right ML parents are "locked", ^^'

Maud solved..
now we need to follow all the aftermath of the other merges..
last conflict abandoned 2 hours ago:

(I think a red line is necessary to attract his attention :)

Dimitri Vulis -- that tree can't be isolated; it's still connected to the World Tree.

Thanks Anne. But perhaps a curator can disconnect?

Here is another recent one:
