Two related merges (husband and wife) from 1300's
Francesco Gatto, 1st Baron of Djar il-Bniet

This one has conflicts and inconsistencies perhaps due to a recent merge. And the biographical info is in German, for someone fluent in the language.

https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000003649626368&src=profile&cmp=btn - one side was added Jan. 2, 2024. (There are 4 more tree matches in my merge center related to this one.)
Breakpoint is Rebecca Baldwin (MP) vs Rebecca Baldwin The new profile adds a daughter that is not on Geni.
Private User
Ernst II av Bayern, count of Bavaria
Count Ernst von Nordgau, DUP DO NOT MERGE YET
They are one and the same, the father would be
Ernst I, count in Nordgau
and the mother unknown, N.N.
But to merge them requires also to cut off the profile above them.
Thank you, Private User .
I understand what you're saying. But I'm still afraid to change anything, because the dates for Ernst II av Bayern, count of Bavaria and Ernst I, count in Nordgau look vaguely similar (although I may be overlooking other, more important clues);
and the N.N. mother(s) seems a bit of a wild card, just to complicate things a little further.
MedLands does very little to clarify all of the connections for this branch, and I don't see any other good sources for them.
https://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/GERMAN%20NOBILITY.htm#_ftnref115
Wikipedia says of this era:
Ducal Bavaria (also known as the "Younger Stem duchy")
Ruled by an array of dukes from an array of rivaling houses, individually appointed to office.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_monarchs_of_Bavaria
So in my personal opinion for what it's worth, I see this branch as at least 50% speculative and probably riddled with errors.
In order to proceed with your recommendations (which seem sound enough from my standpoint) before merging the two Ernst IIs, one would need to first:
1) remove Gebhard von Nordgau (Agilolfinger) as one of the two attached fathers for Ernst II av Bayern, count of Bavaria
2) remove both parents currently attached to Count Ernst von Nordgau, DUP DO NOT MERGE YET
I won't touch the parents of the MP'd Ernst I, since they were added by another curator.
However, I did remove Gebhard since that doesn't belong (the real parents of Ernst II are obvious, since they're locked into that MP).
And removed the wonky parents of the duplicate, Count Ernst von Nordgau, DUP DO NOT MERGE YET
Perhaps the best course to proceed now, would be to disconnect that duplicate from the MP wife, Adelheid von Babenberg
and hope that duplicate line will soon be isolated, before someone comes along and merges them again.
all very interesting but:
-dear PRO Private User
the new JPG of Adelheid von Babenberg (828-892) is the wife of *https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_(%C3%96sterreich) a century later

PLZ do NOT merge unsourced duplicates into the MEDIEVAL tree: it creates and leaves unnecessary conflicts and inaccuracies..
.. you should know this if you are a member of "Historical Tree Clean Up: Please Park Unsourced DUPLICATES in the Historical Tree Here!"

Juliana Thomas is a mess with 3 sets of parents. She had 2 sets of parents before the last merge.
https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000189623357845 is a pending merge.
https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000000350818835&src=profile&cmp=btn showed up in my merge center today, January 4.
# Juliana Thomas SOLVED
it was a simple short double copy by the same user..
.. maybe (C) Erica Howton had left the exotic user the chance to complete his low medieval 1500 ascent.
I know the triple conflict is scary, but I preferred to solve it by myself to trill her to come and unravel the mess about aforementioned Babenger under 1000 (for the second time:)
Livio Scremin - thank you. There’s a citation conflict on death date for Juliana Thomas to be resolved still.
OK no problem TNX for understand @ John
PLZ points out the large medieval duplications here, especially those in the early high Middle Ages..
usually some (C) expert and willing, marks them off for destruction..
..now we'll have to wait for Erica Howton to return from her skiing holiday in Aspen.. T.T
TNX @ Erica Howton (C) for your holiday break,
ok I'll come to help on the dedicated thread:

Did some isolating work following the Dup signposts you'd left around the Ernst Dup tree, Private User

Private User I see you've done a great deal of detailed research on this line mentioned above - so I've merged into the originals on the world tree. Please come and have a look, and start Discussions where your research differs from the originals on Geni. Call me to the Discussions so I can help smooth the process.

Hello new PRO Leo Franklin Pritzker
welcome but merge Arabic duplicate trees under 1000 created by just new inexperienced users is never a good idea..
but just in general when you find medieval duplications post it here.. (TNX:)
About Skipwith tree..
naa they are not 3 different parents,
only that 2 users have the mother for him,
but since one from 2015 (Alice Skipwith) is not editable (BUG?)
It looks worse than it is..
I'll solve the scary triple parentage thing, but someone check this out genealogically TNX
[since nearby I see conflicts abandoned by (C) on 2015 also on Alice Skipwith ]:
the part above just unmerged:
new DUP line of Husain al-Athram bin Imaam Hasan as-Sibti unmerged below..
is the DUP tree of :
2007 Husain al-Athram bin Imaam Hasan as-Sibti
everything blanck-empty, everything unsourced, everything without dates, everything compiled in the field...
sorry, that's not the way to make connections under 1000 ^^'
