A Geni user has asked me to change the way that I have handled some speculative profiles of the parents of one of our mutual ancestors. Here's a summary of how I would like to explain my position to him and I would appreciate the thoughts of fellow curators before I reply to him.
Re: profile: Alan F Nehs
Whilst I take your point that there is no definitive evidence that Alan & Pauline are Mathias' parents, there are other individuals/families that believe they were.
For example:
https://familysearch.org/search/tree/results?count=75&query=%2B...~
http://www.genealogy.com/ftm/l/o/n/Duane-Long-CO/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0...
As a curator, this creates a dilemma for me. Once profiles go back further than 1700, often events have to be treated as at least partially speculative, however, my personal view in this case is that if we don't share this speculative data then we may be hiding a clue that could lead to someone finding the very evidence that will prove or disprove the speculation.
Fortunately, Geni's Master Profile feature curators have the ability to highlight the speculative nature of Mathias' parentage and with that in mind I am inclined to present Alan & Pauline as his parents it with suitable cautions.
Any thoughts?
Will
Hi Curators,
Could someone please undo my accidental merge(s) of Agnes Allen and her daughter Agnes Pulliam?

Can someone attach these three people to the correct mother -
Anthony Rapp
Private
Private
Mary Lee Rapp is the correct mother and Douglas Rapp is the father.

I am not a close enough relation to fix this :(

Hey curators, it has been brought to my attention that the profile for Catherine Breau has major problems. It appears that she has had many children after her death and her husband remained unmarried after this event. Would someone be brave enough to examine this and help us clean up her profile? Catherine Breau.
Much appreciated

Private User may I suggest you also 'Follow' the discussions on this profile.
Open the profile Judith Anne de Mornay du Plessis , scroll down, click on the Discussion tab, open each discussion and click on 'Follow' and from now on if anyone posts something in those discussions you will get a notification.
You can do this with any profile that have Discussions associated with it.
I have repeatedly asked Martin to please post his findings on the Discussion already created for this - as indicated clearly on the Curator note on the profile.
There is a long history and many people involved in talking through decisions about this profile, and Martin's reasons for ignoring this forum are unclear.
Martin has a history of demanding that his wishes be complied with immediately, but as I'm busy in the Medieval tree right now, I am not prepared to drop everything and try to follow his argument. The other managers involved in the initial Discussion would be able to do this in my placer but not while he refuses to engage with them.
loll Sharon nice try :)
i take the credit for disconection i endorse my claim
i dont have to answer when i ask somthing first and i refuse to play that game
i provide french documentation with no conection at the end
