"1.1.7 Sweyn II - and one woman found near, in the Roskilde Cathedral: the king was mtDNA haplogroup H and the woman was mtDNA haplogroup H5a (highly unlikely to be the king's mother Estrid of Denmark)"

His nurse? A foster mother? A wife or concubine?
Cheers,
Sibylle

Perhaps the objection from Deisi is that Sweyn should not be the H5 project if he was not H5.

That's it Justin. By the way, I think we need a DNA-Haplogroup project with our FTDNA-test results, in order to find more easely possible common ancestors and bring the best possible prove of acuracy to our family profiles. I just found an open list like that with 67 pages of only Norway maternal ancestors names, mostly from H mtDNA haplogroups, their HVR1 and HVR2 mutations numbers. I saw there, for first time, my own mtDNA Haplogroup "H-1c" mutations:

I got there, for first time, my own mtDNA "H-1c" Haplogroup mutations.

OK. I moved Sweyn and Estrid from H5 to H.

We have an umbrella project for all the different mtDNA projects:
http://www.geni.com/projects/mtDNA-Haplogroups/3921

And another for yDNA projects:
http://www.geni.com/projects/Y-DNA-haplogroups/3717

It's very helpful when users add the ancestors they know. Our projects here on Geni will never been as complete as the projects at FTDNA but still very, very helpful, particularly since DNA is increasingly being used to sort out many old families.
