As curator I generally trust midlands over Wikipedia if there is a difference however J note that in this case I have used wikipediaover Wikipedia if there is a difference however I note that in this case I have used Wikipedia. Midlands does not record any children by his first wife. What is the consensus of opinion?

Too many can change info on Wikipedia and most others don't have a year of birth for her but do list a daughter and some have two with Katherine Hastings.

[I have more info, if needed, on Margaret's descendants & ancestors. I'll chart this line next, & already have it in Tribal Pages.]

I just looked at the Stafford line. Since I have not yet proven my connection to it, I'm not ready to chart it. If anyone needs any part of it, beyond what I have submitted, feel free to ask; as I have done the research.

"Margaret Stafford, MP"??? A WOMAN member of Parliament??? In the 14th century???
I don't think so!

On the other hand, we do find http://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1386-1421/member/st... and http://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1386-1421/member/st..., with a mention of their father, who was before the site's records start.

"MP" (Member of Parliament) is not a title that can be acquired through marriage or legal inheritance (though running for your father's seat and winning it, or gaining a seat of your own through political connections, happened fairly often).

And by the way, whoever hacked up a death date of 1410 in "Hastings, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand" was toking something pretty heavy. There wasn't anybody there but the Maori, and Europeans didn't even know about the place until the 17th century - and they took a lot longer to get around to trying to settle it (the Maori didn't want any "illegal aliens").

At the time I had collected the information, I was taking anything I could find & wasn't properly vetting it or listing all references. It was before I was seriously into genealogy. So; I simply went to my Tribal Pages Tribal Tree & grabbed what I had put there. Since I haven't been able to confirm the connection to that Holland surname line; & think it may have been the wrong Holland line, I did not research further into those. Thank you, Maven; as I was wondering about the meaning of MP. It's also good to learn that only the indigenous people were in New Zealand up to the 17th century & later. I'm rather interested in the Maori. Sorry about the erroneous information.
