Actually we appear to have a candidate for her father: Gabriel van Samboua, SV/Prog - given her patronymic. Private User & Delia Robertson - you might find this interesting.

Relocating Adriaantje to be the child of this man.

Actually if you look at the top of her page (http://www.e-family.co.za/ffy/g7/p7069.htm), CC is described as her step-father, and the source for this is *not* footnote 1, but footnote 2 i.e. her marriage record in which she is described as "stiefdogter van Kees de Boer".

Allocating this non-white man as biological father is nonsensical for at least two glaring reasons: (1) the time frame & (2) familiarizing yourselves with the rudiments of how & when slave infants were baptized at the Cape of Good Hope during this period, one would appreciate that Adriaentje Gabriels: was in fact 'halfslag' - born of a slave mother and accepted/presumed by the minister baptizing the infant (& congregation) to be biologically fathered by a European or white man - 'heelslag' slave infants in this time frame were still being denied baptism at the Cape ...

Hmm, okay - the halfslag/heelslag is an important distinction. (We have a project where we try and keep a record of slaveowners & who they owned when in the hope that this will be a useful resource when DNA testing becomes more widespread.)

I'm going to remove Adriaantje asa child of Gabriel's & give her a NN European father. Marie Vermeulen-Boshoff - I think your baptism list's lack of her name is also a red flag here.

I did find the entries for Gerrit Helm bapt on 10 Apr 1705, and Hendrik Helm bapt on 24 Aug 1702.

How do you determine this Catharina van de Caab is Catharina van Malabar? It just does not seem definitive to me.
There are several with the name of Catharina van de Caab throughout Cape history? There are 2 on this page plus an Elizabeth Catharina van de Caab!
My ancestor Jacob Friedrich Neethling also married a Catharina van de Caap.

Adriaantje Gabrielsz is still shown as the daughter of Gabriel van Samboua instead of a NN European father. Is this the consensus?
