Hello GFR folks,

Some of you may know (and some not) that I am working with AJ as his Director of Research for the Global Family Reunion to connect as many cousins as possible before the Reunion from the requests we get in the main GFR mail box. I check for connections on all the sites he's working with and would love it if some of you would be willing to help every once in awhile when I run into these sort of situations. Lois shows that she should be connected to AJ since she's connected to the main tree, but from what I understand sometimes you have to help the connection along. I don't really know how to do this, but if one of you would be willing to follow the connection and figure it out, AJ and I both would appreciate it! Lois' granddaughter is hoping to hear how she's connected to AJ, so as soon as you figure something out, let us know here.

Unknown Profile

The more family members she can add to the tree, the easier it will be to find a connection. See if she can add some of her uncles, aunts, in-laws, cousins, etc.

She isn't on Geni (yet) but I will see if I can add some of what she sent us. Someone else has her grandparents on one side up. Thanks, Randy!

Lois Elaine Brown (Creveling) is A.J. Jacobs' 54th cousin 10 times removed's wife's grandmother! http://geni.com/FBbFb

Thanks, Randy!

Hey folks ... I am building a massive family tree and would love to connect it to the Global Family Tree ... what's the process?

Unknown Profile, As you build up the tree, you'll start to see indicators of a "Match" (including dates helps). The blue matches represent profiles within the Geni tree (possible duplicates). A pro member can merge these duplicates into a single tree. So the goal is to build until you start to overlap the world tree, then merge into it, bringing your branches into the world tree.

There is currently already a duplicate tree for yourself, managed by Unknown Profile, so I'd certainly suggest a merge of that so you are working together and not duplicating your family. I can initiate that merge for you if you wish, but it both sides will need to accept the merge.
