Conan O'Brien

AJ - we've tried with Conan before and failed. Needs a break from somewhere or something.

He and Dennis Leary are cousins I think. So maybe could try getting to Dennis and that will help.

Interesting! I didn't know about the Dennis connection. I know Conan has a whole bunch of brothers and sisters. He's one of six, according to Wikipedia. Maybe one of them has a spouse? Even a Jewish one?

His father, Thomas Francis O'Brien, is a physician, epidemiologist, and professor of medicine at Harvard.[13][14][15] His mother, Ruth O'Brien (née Reardon), is an attorney and partner at the Boston firm Ropes & Gray.[16] He is the third of six children. O'Brien's family is Irish Catholic; some of his Irish ancestors immigrated before the American Civil War.[15] In a Late Night episode, O'Brien paid a visit to County Kerry, Ireland, where his ancestors originated.

I just looked up the Dennis Leary connection -- very cool, great idea.

Through marriage, Leary is a third cousin of talk show host Conan O'Brien.[8][9]

She is AJ's first cousin once removed's wife's second cousin twice removed's husband's second great nephew's ex-wife's nephew and she is Jeff Goldblum's great aunt's second great grandmother.

Conan had written that there is 160 years of Irish Americans marrying each other in Worcester MA. I added Denis Leary's aunts and uncles; somehow one of them gets into the Reardons & O'Briens?

I'm not sure if the connection is close to this, but Conan's GGM Unknown Profile could be close. She has a sister that marries an "O'Sullivan" and another that marries a "Doherty".

I wish I had been tagged here...I have so much on his wife that at least she would have had quite direct paths to people! Very old Hartford, New Jersey, Mayflower (2x at least), etc. I'm really glad you guys did such great work, though! It was exciting to see Geni and Unknown Profile next to my hero and know that maybe all that work made him at least a little happy. :)

The person who can answer the Leary question is Leary himself. He says that he had their relationship professionally charted years ago. I've tried him on Twitter in the past with no luck, unfortunately.

Another would've-been-cool thing: The guest preceding A.J. was Mindy Kaling, who was given her big break by Unknown Profile, Conan's best friend since college and former writing partner. One of my odd little goals has been to find a way to connect Conan, Daniels, Bob Odenkirk, and Robert Smigel, all of whom shared an office at SNL. (That trivia bit is probably only interesting to Victar, my fellow comedy nerd curator. :))
