This guy has multiple sets of parents.... Juan Lopez de Victoria and Maria de Benavides are the right set.

Josef and Maria (1665) would be his mother´s parents

and then, there is Maria de Benavides also, Juan Cayetano´s wife... (1880)...

I have tried, but it won´t let me split the tree, here... where it needs to be split... (the parents and the wrong set of his mother´s parents)
Or merge the "other" Maria (1880) without spouse, but with child Antonia... into the Main profile of Juan Cayetano´s mother Maria de Benavides (1880)

Please, can someone, with curator rights, help out?

I´m sorry for confusing you... Juan Cayetano´s mother is Maria de Benavides (1880) his mother´s mother... is Maria Benavides II (1865)...

not his wife.

I think these are the same person. Can they be merged, if so. My husband is related to one but comes up unrelated to the other. I am confused and don't want to break anything... :-)

Catherine Anna Manfredi Yronwode those two are indeed the same profile. But I found some others of the same family who needed merging, and I merged them .

I'm having a problem. I know it's of my own making, but it needs to be fixed. Christian Matthias Hansen Wentzel is my ancestor 7 generations back. I merged his mother's profile with the world tree. She is Anne Cathrine Hagen Wentzel and her husband is Hans Christian Mathison Wentzel.Hans Christian was given the wrong father, according to a very comprehensive online genealogy of the Wentzel family that has sources clearly indicated. The geni profile had Hans Christian's father as Hans Baltzer Wentzel.

According to Erik Wenzel's tree--and he is the authority:

Christian Matthias Wentzel (Wenzel).
Glaspuster i Biri (1801), = on 24-12-1759 in Bergstedt (D-HH), + 1826 in Biri (N), son of Hans Henrich Wentzel (Wenzel) and Maria Olavsdatter (Larsdatter).
# (1) on 01-07-1783 in Hurum (N) Catrina Hagen.
* ca. 1760 in Jevnaker (N)?
# (2) on 21-06-1792 in Hurum (N) Elisabeth Christine Christensdatter (Kristensdatter).
* 1756 in Hurum (N)? + 1830.

I made the change and added several generations of ancestors. The problem is that Hans Henrich Wentzel now has all of Hans Baltzer Wentzel's children, and I don't know how to detach them.

I have contacted profile managers but my experience is that they don't do anything about making changes.

Can you help solve my problem? I'm getting better at merging and avoiding mistakes, but I can't figure my way out of this one.
