Do we have a project where we can place "public figures" who are not yet on the geni tree, so they can be added by someone who know where they fit in?

Private User both you and me merged Marshall with a duplicate today, and he has now four managers. Only one of these was not recently active on Geni. So he is strongly embedded in the big tree now, and certainly not in an abandoned tree

Hi there,

Hoping to get help in initiating merges for duplicate profiles of the wife and children of Private . There are duplicates of each attached to this profile as a result of an old merge, but I can't request any merges as the duplicates are all marked private.

I've had requests in to the manager of the private set of profiles to join their family tree or to initiate the merge themselves since 2010, but have not heard anything back in six years. Is it possible for someone to start these merges? The target of all of those merges is an active profile or has an active manager, so I can get them to complete the merge, just need someone to initiate the merge.

I don't know if the person who newly did a merge are done or not, but she now have 4 parents. Ingrid Carlsdotter Rödbjälke, Heiress of Vinstorp She was the daughter of Karl Ingemundsson Rödbjälke and Ragnhild Siggesdotter Djäkn, so if a curator could help fix this would be good?

I happily accepted a merge request of another profile of John James Watson SNR 1500- 1568 and wife Margaret Sotheron 1502-1568 and I am not comfortable fixing the merge duplicates that have happened. I really don't know how to word this request for help but hope you can help me.

I did a few of the most obvious merges in this area, but there are a few issues where you have to look at first
e.g. he has two brothers Thomas with slightly different birth dates and very different birth locations; and a brother James with the same birth date

This profile has 2 sets of parents and a son Christopher with a different name and no sources. The manager has no recent activity.

Lewis Couch

If this is Lewes Cowch / Couch of Hartland, Devon, England, there is a record on FamilySearch that his father was Luke Cowch/Couch.

This Lewes Couch/Cowch had a son Simon/Symon in 1615 in Braunton, Devon, England. Simon/Symon had a son Lewes in Braunton in 1639.

So far there is no connection that Lewes and Simon/Symon are related to the Simon of Fairfield who supposedly was born about 1646 and died 1689.

I undid two previous merges and the tree is as it was on Jun 1, 2014 after a merge I did which was requested by Gibby Brack.

I believe the two Lewis profiles should be merged, as they are probably the same, but the dates of births of the supposed children are suspect because according to FindMyPast which has original records, Isot Maine, wife of Lewis, died January 1617. So she was not alive to have the children listed with the 1630's birthdates.

When you suspect an abandoned tree you should look for the "Abandoned Tree" item in the Actions menu on the managers profile.

If you select that option (it is a select-once option) another active user in the managers tree or the one who added the profile of the manager will be added as a co-manager of the profiles and will probably be more responsive.

Margaret's parents are probably married 1937 in Machynlleth, Montgomeryshire, Wales. Thiis would make the 3 generations of the tree private. I did not see any dates at all. There was one deceased public profile but no dates or location :-(
