However, given Mike's directive to Itai - seems to make sense to give him a chance. I assume Mike had a reason for selecting and asking him to do it - such as having faith in his skills as well as possibly that Itai was first Curator to respond to Susan's request (and or responded a few times to it)/ (And if Itai feels Customer Support's assistance would be helpful, assume he will request it.)

Didn't mean to be criticizing Itai for not having completed it yet - which after clicking to Post above, realized it sounded that way - but more that the discussion seemed to be going on as if no such request had been made, so wanted to sort of flag Susan et al that a Curator had actually been directed by Mike to try to fulfill her request.
[And am hoping he or Susan will let us know if he is able to fulfill it - just cause one likes to know - and so other suggestions would be relevant then if he is not able to do the unmerge.]

(No Name) - Ulf said that "You have your father and mother, they could be set as private if they are still living" - in point of fact, if they are still living you have no choice but to have them as Private. It is if they are deceased that you have a choice - those geni will by default make Public, but you can make them Private. However, it might make sense to hold off on changes till Itai gets a chance to try to do the unmerge - just in case it is easier if fewer changes made [other Curators can possibly enlighten about that - I may be guessing wrong]

And since even if Itai succeeds in unmerging you, I believe the flag showing whether the profiles are or are not part of the World Tree remains set to are part of World Tree - so only way to avoid any and everone then being able to re-merge you/your Tree into the World Tree would be to make all the Profiles Private. Am totally willing to be told that flag can now also be re-set - but that was the latest I had heard.

On the other hand, if the unmerge is done, then if you choose to close your Account, there is a greater chance you can if you wish, have the profiles you created deleted by Geni upon the closing of the Account. (or you could still choose to not have them deleted).

You can switch your father's profile to private:
1-go to his profile page or click on his his node in tree view
2- click edit
3-close to the top you'll see 'Privacy'. You can click 'Private'

Wouldn't you miss 'Geni' after being a member for such a long time? I certainly would !

I've unmerged the ones that looked like Susan added (as best I can tell); they are set private and 'matches' to other profiles were rejected. There are still some 'profile management' issues to be worked through (due to the imprecise nature of the un-merge), but I would ask that we deal with that in messages, rather than this discussion.

Just responded in the forum to her post with some advises." -- apparently totally rejecting Mike's request. Given what I thought the hierarchy was on Geni, that was not what I was expecting.

I'm not completely senseless, Ard van Bergen , but if I cant stretch a woman to have children under a 70 year span, then there's something seriously wrong.
We can of-course keep the line as it is, but then we will probably all stop searching for the real parents, but then again, maybe it's better that people are happy and content with a lot of wishful beliefs ?

When you spot something wrong, as in the case of Cecilie, your first point of call should be the manager(s) of the profile(s) involved, especially when it's only a few people as in this case. Or start a discussion about it (from the discussion tab on the profile).
By just claiming that you know better than anybody else, you are putting off a lot of people

Private User, Itai Meshulam wasn't saying "I won't do what you ordered me to do" he was saying "I don't know as much about this as you think I do." Another curator took care of undoing the merges.

Johanne Hansdatter Podebusk needs her mother to be change to N.N. Christiernsdatter Vendelbo, her fathers first wife, whom she also inherited a part of Skjerngaard, which her heirs in 1544 brought into a court proceedings about. Her father had no known children with the second wife.

After the line are upwards are cutted, remove both NN parents to Ingerd.

Would there be any wrong to actually correct faulty lines? Cut the above mentioned nn nn profiles, as they are no longer the children of anyone.
Any functioning curator at all will due for that task.

Could someone please un do this last merge I did. I clicked cancel but too late. I also think there were problems there with childrens ages prior to my visit (lol).
Possibly the yellow triangle already there, not sure, but looks like a merge of father and son perhaps.
