Private User, according to my sources, it is his son but his name is James John Allen but listed as John in the will and in the Quaker Meeting Records. He married Elizabeth Walsh(1720-1738) on Apr 13, 1736 and Rebecca Gibbs (1720-1788) om Mar 2, 1747. He had a son named Robert Allen by Elizabeth Walsh.
What is your source for his having a son Robert? I already have John on the tree. He was born c1710, not 1722 when his mother was 47 years old. He couldn't have had a son Robert born in Rhode Island as he never left Bucks County. Elizabeth Welsh, died young and only had 1 child as far as I know. John married Elizabeth Large in 1741. So, if Robert really is his son, Robert's mother is Elizabeth Large. Robert is not listed in John Allen's will. There are no men by the name Robert anywhere else in the Allen family. However, I'm not familiar with the Large family names. Elizabeth Large's father was John. I don't know her mother. I'm a descendant of James Welch and Martha Allen.
Private User, I am sorry that I was not clear. Your request is for a curator to delete a connection made by another user. I looked into your request. There are sources that substantiate the user's tree. I did not intend to validate his work - just tell you that it is not a clear error. One of the strength's of Geni is the collaborative nature of building the tree for the validation of the data. For that reason and to respect the work of another, your request needs to involve the manager of the profile. I recommend a private message to the user or starting a discussion on the questioned profile. A discussion is useful to keep the other managers aware of your concerns. On the other hand, a private message gives a chance to "debate" the manager directly. Thanks.
General question to check i am not missing something.
I have just visited a profile that i made about 3 years ago which in the last hour has been merged with a profile less than a year old. Of curiosity i checked the Revisions tab to discover that the history of the profile i created has simply gone and only the revisions made to the newer profile remain.
Is this typical? I seem to recall others mentioning it previously but I dont think ive previously understood the situation completely.
John Allen's will was written in 1758. Richard Allen was born in 1745. He would have been living in Pennsylvania at the age of 13 when the will was written and would not have been omitted from his father's will. The married daughter listed is from his first wife, Elizabeth Welsh, and the two minor children are from his third wife, Rebecca Gibbs. No children are listed from his second wife, Elizabeth Large.
I sent a message to the manager of James and Richard before posting here the first time.
The will is proof that somebody's published guess is wrong. James Allen should be connected to Allens of Rhode Island as I have proved that he is not the same person as John Allen of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. If he cannot be found a family in Rhode Island, then he should be left without parents. James Allen did not marry Elizabeth Welsh. She is ten years younger. Furthermore, she had died before Richard was born in 1745.
I spend two weeks in Bucks County cemeteries, the Court House, and Spruance Library every summer. Unless there is a Quaker document or fully researched family history done by the Pennsylvania Historical Society that list James Allen, James Allen is NOT the same person as John Allen. The chronology is wrong and you have shown me no primary source for a James Allen born to Samuel Allen and Jane Waln.
My contribution to the collaborative tree is producing the document that proves a theory is wrong. I have checked my photos of original wills from Bucks County. I don't seem to have that will. I will attempt to access it next summer. Last year many of the documents were not available because they were out for scanning. For now, the will extract should suffice. The full recorded version, not the original, is also available through familysearch.org if one browses through the collection.
Keeping James and Richard on the tree is perpetuating false theories based on NO PROVEN DOCUMENTATION. I invite everyone to prove me wrong with a document. I haven't had my fill of humble pie during this season of plenty.
This sounds like the "Elinor Warfield (Browne)" mess http://www.geni.com/discussions/151948. She's an Anne Arundel, MD resident who keeps getting tied to Rhode Island because two men keep getting confused with each other.
Could someone please complete the following merge:

I need some help undoing a merge that I made by accident. I've tried to undo it, but now I am left with a person married to the wrong individual, and when I attempt to remove the marriage relationship, the Remove button is disabled and it indicates that by removing this relationship I will be splitting the tree. Could a curator please contact me to help me out with this?
I am now too tired to sort this out myself, but I just stumbled across these profiles which I think need merging, but some of the information does not match up. Would a kind curator please have a look and see if you can work it out with the profile manager of the new profile?

Sorry but I won't get back to this tonight...

I insist, forms to enter a profile are poorly designed, please confusion creates the form and not the person who puts data does their best, the example is in the beginning of this message
