This profile was female and should have been male. I fixed that, but the important thing is that he was married to himself.

Can you undo that relationship, please?

I may be incorrect but from what I've found so far it looks like
Jacoba Petronella Johanna Joubert and
Jacoba Petronella Joubert are two different people.
Their names, birth date and the date they passed away are different.
The husbands mentioned in the comparison are sons of two brothers.
The brothers are
Dirk Johannes Swanepoel, b5c4d5e12 and
Dirk Johannes Lourens Swanepoel, b5c4d5e10 and their spouses who also have similar names Francina Barendina Bothma and
Francina Barendina Botha
To start off with I'm looking for sources to prove that the two brothers existed and who their wives were. The problem may already have started there.

I’ve found reference in the National Archives that SWANEPOEL, ABRAHAM CAREL. Actually had married twice, SURVIVING SPOUSE JACOBA PETRONELLA JOHANNA (BORN JOUBERT) and PREDECEASED SPOUSE ELIZABETH MAGRIETA LOUISA (BORN TALJAARD). This second wife is not shown on his profile and before I add her I want to make sure I have the correct Abraham Carel Swanepoel.

I’ve also found reference that Jacoba Johanna Joubert married Jan Jacobus van Rooyen with no mention of Swanepoel up to now.
The plot thickens!

Need some help with this untangling: the mother of Llewelyn ab Einion is unknown, but his father should be Einion ap Dafydd (he's the grandson of Margaret Puleston).

Can the other father with the same name get detached?

But his father should be the MP profile, the Constable of Harlech -- Dafydd ab Ieuan, Constable of Harlech Castle -- is the father of Einion ap Dafydd, and married to Margaret Puleston.

So that got mixed -- but I think I can fix that.

Llewelyn Ddu ap Gruffydd, of Bryncunallt

I was going to resolve conflicting data, but something larger than that is going on.

This profile is rightly named "Llewelyn Ddu ap Gruffydd." At one point he seems to have been merged with somebody named Iorwerth. So if you could undo that merge, that would be great, as they are not the same person.

Indeed, I can't figure out who this Iorwerth is -- Gruffydd ap Iorwerth Foel didn't have a son named Iorwerth, as far as I've found yet, AND the nickname "Foelddu" makes no sense. Foel (bald), sure. Ddu (dark), sure. But I've never seen "foelddu" and it's not showing up in sources.

So no idea who this guy is that Llewelyn got merged with. But if he gets unmerged, maybe things might get clearer.

We're STILL having fallout from last winter's Bad Merge Mania, when a tweak to the software went out of control and mash-merged a lot of semi-similar profiles (that weren't really).

Ah. That explains it. How a Llewelyn got confused with an Iorwerth wasn't at all clear to me.

I do think that after they get disentangled I can figure out the Iorwerth from his descendants.

Though I will probably not be believing that he is both bald and dark haired.

I think the bad merge might predate Aug 2014 and the ability to undo merge. I see activity in the revisions tab in Feb 2014.

So when that happens, make new profiles, slice, dice.

Re Roger Bigod, 5th Earl of Norfolk
he has two pairs of parents; one pair died long before he was born so that is obviously wrong.
Both pairs of parents are well connected to the big tree, but when I try to select the correct parents I still get the error message "would split the tree"

Well, I took the "long way around" to get there (via un-merging, disconnecting, re-merging, etc), but I think Roger has correct parents now.
