Sir Randle Brereton IV son of Emma (Carington) & Randle Brereton III was married to Eleanor Dutton, not Isabel Boteler/Butler, she was the 2nd wife of his son Sir Randle Brereton V.

Carole (Erickson) Pomeroy,Vol. Curator I had attached a chart from

Ormerod: Brereton and Holt of Brereton
https://archive.org/stream/historyofcountyp03orme#page/51/mode/1up

Here:
http://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000027134429199

Pamela Johnson also uploaded many Brereton docs here

Sir Ralph de Brereton

I believe this will assist in clarifying / aligning the descent.

Well this Document is not very good, not able to zoom in close enough to read anything.

There are only two profiles connected with this, Erica Howton do you mind if I upload a better (hopefully) image that is readable and re-source the two profiles?

Please do. But leave that doc - if you press "visit URL" it takes you to that page in the book to read other pages etc. a handy shortcut.

It seems all the other Documents uploaded for Sir Ralph de Brereton do not include the Randall Brereton who married Emma Carrington and their descendants. The Chart in the History of the County Palatine and city of Chester does not include the Brereton's of Malpas.

I will be using several other references that I have found.

I suspect

Unknown Profile

is the brother of

Sir Randal Brereton, IV of Malpas

not the son.

http://our-royal-titled-noble-and-commoner-ancestors.com/p362.htm#i... lists Ralph's connected dau. Margery/Margaret (Brereton) Holford / Sackville as his and wife Joan. And yes he is listed as Sir Randal's brother (sons of Randle Brereton & Emma Carrington. :^)

Thank you
Breretons of Cheshire, 1100 to 1904 A. D (1904)
FamilySearch
Stirnet.com
also list a Ralph as brother of Randal.

A somewhat different chronology of the Breretons

Erica Howton

I am finally done sourcing The history of the county palatine and city of Chester .... Vol. III. Pg.51
http://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000027543874132
I have the link to the Book & to the page in the Description

You wanted to keep your document Ormerod: Brereton and Holt of Brereton "visit URL" it takes you to that page in the book to read other pages etc. a handy shortcut. But it is not necessary and you can delete it if you wish, Ralph de Brereton, Knight & Sir Ralph de Brereton are still tagged to it.

Thank you Graham Allen Ringwood

I have seen this PDF.
Pg.36
Sir Randle Brereton I was the son of Sir Wm Brereton III, Baron of Malpas and Margaret Donne. Randle married Alicia Ipstones and had a son Randle Brereton II who married Catherine Bulkely of Eaton. Catharine and Randle's children included Randle Brereton of Ipstones who married Emma Carrington; Ralph Brereton who married Margery and Bartholemew Brereton who married and had a son Humphrey Brereton.
The children of Randle and Emma included;
Humphrey Brereton
Randle Brereton of Malpas
Ellen Brereton who married Nicholas Bruyn.
Sir Randle II of Ipstones later married Joan Holford and had least two sons:
Owen Brereton
Randle Brereton

Sir Randle Brereton III of Malpas married Elenor Dutton, daughter of Piers Dutton of Halton. They had issue:
John Brereton who became Parson of Brereton Church at Astbury (?-1642)
Richard Brereton who married Jane Massey of Tatton Hall
Thomas Brereton
Peter Brereton who became Canon of Westminster and Master of Barts Hospital
Elizabeth Brereton who married Randal Mainwaring; Anne Brereton who married John Fershall
Uryan Brereton60 who married Margaret Honford in 1530 (he later married Alice Trafford) and started the Handforth branch
Roger Brereton (Stewart of Holt and Flint) who married Katherine
William Brereton was beheaded by King Henry VIII.

It does not list another wife besides Elenor Dutton & it does not seem to list a son Randle for them.
Then it gives detail about their son William Brereton who was beheaded and then seems on Pg.43 to jump to
SIR RANDLE BRERETON V
Butler, Dod and Massey-Tatton Branch
Sir Randle Brereton VI (son of Sir Randle Brereton V and Isabel Butler) married Mary Griffith. They had issue:

I see no other reference to Sir Randle Brereton V who married Isabel Butler or their other children. But would assume that Sir Randle Brereton V would be the son of Elenor Dutton & Sir Randle III in this reference.

This

https://archive.org/stream/breretonfamilyhi00brerrich/breretonfamil...

page 15 contains a reference the brotherhood of Randal and Ralph.

Primogeniture suggests Randal was born before Ralph.

I put lots of Brereton references in the Sources for Ralph husband of Ada.
FYI, to catch up on that, the historians at the college of heralds say Breretons were verified and gave permission in 1479 to use Ada de Huntingdon's and John le Scot's COA's incorporated with their own. They would have had to prove their lineage at that time. That was the point of the Visitation. I posted the Source in the Harleian MSS on Ralph profile.
