The original French-Canadian name was Quay dit Dragon, brought over from France. That is why there are plenty of Quay in Canada.

There is likely more than 1 national origin for the name. It might just be a mere coincidence that your surname is the same as a French-Canadian surname.

Nice. It seems the recent presidents are less removed for you.

I checked and Prince Charles is my 10th cousin.

The "removed" part just has to do with number of generations between us - the cousinship number is perhaps a better measure of how "close" the relationship really is - using that as a measure, I am the most closely related to Ulysses S Grant, and Rutherford Hays, with George Washington, and Madison next, followed by Jefferson and Jackson.

Basic members can merge and can add profiles. What takes pro rights are disconnects and using search.

Progress up the tree, inspecting each profile, and endure that they have the right number of parents, spouses, siblings, and children for their genealogical sources.

As mentioned FindAGrave is a good resource for the Kansas family. So by comparing the Geni profile with F.A.G. Data should reveal any corrections needed and anything missing to be added. I know there's an additional spouse 2 gens up from Stanley needs to be added - and therefore his family.

Ah, maybe not having pro rights is causing the problem. But I thought I fixed mistaken merges before.

If in tree view, select edit relationships

If in profile, go to the relationships tab, scroll down to the bottom of the page, remove an incorrect relationship.

You may need PRO rights, I'm not sure what the parameters are on this. I've been Pro practically since Geni started and don't regret a penny.

Merging is different because the yellow conflict triangle helps select the correct relationship. Anyone can merge & merge correctly, but it takes doing it to do it. :):)
